Hello,

I have been researching as I develop these strange new symptoms and found this site and posts very informative. I think I know what PBC is, I am so newly diagnosed all I know is that I have developed cirrhosis prr my doctor. It seems nearly daily I'm experiencing a new symptom, many of I see discussed here so thank you.

Welcome.

It might be an idea to speak directly with PBC Foundation who may be able to help you find answers to your questions.

I just wonder why your primary doctor did not refer you to a specialist sooner it would have been obvious from your blood tests that you had developed cirrhosis

Hi BskHB,

Welcome to the site, glad you've found us, and do, please, feel free to ask any questions.

There are so many people on here who are lovely, kind, supportive, and also very knowledgeable about all the ups and downs, and ins and outs, of all aspects of PBC. They will all be willing to help with any questions you have.

Also, Robert* is right about suggesting you contact the 'PBC Foundation', where the trained advisors can advise you, while the website is a fount of up-to-the minute info and research about PBC, as well as having info on food and exercise that can help.

* [NB Robert is one of the senior officials/activists/leaders in the PBC Foundation: the group was set up by his mum, when she was diagnosed with PBC and realised there wasn't much help, out there, for PBC people]. The 'PBC F' is free to join & the PBC community - on here - usually have answers to most things.

Meanwhile, make sure you are looking after yourself, but also trying to have fun, do things you love, treating yourself, and generally trying to de-stress. Stress is the worst thing for all autoimmune conditions, so share your questions and worries here, and with the PBC advisors, and try to relax.

Take care,

Gritty.

Some great advice here...

Last year I was diagnosed in March and was told based off MRI-Bloodwork-Biopsy and my doctors 20 years experience I was stage 3.5 in a 4 point scale...stage 4 being the beginning stages of cirrhosis. I was put on URSO 1200 mg daily and drastically changed my diet. My numbers started falling (was 1800 and fell to as low as 600) . My diet I stripped of land based meats and infused A LOT of fruits and vegetables...a few months ago they did a fibro scam and I had dropped to a 2.5!!! Cirrhosis can be reversed but a lot of things have to fall into place...watch what you put on your skin, the air you breathe by being careful of your environment...I’ve walked out of places including my own home when work was being done...

It’s a lot to take in...READ-READ-READ!!!

Ask Ask Ask as many questions as you need to then do your own research on those comments!

What was most encouraging to me was reading of members who have been dealing with PBC and Cirrhosis for years...

The liver can regerate itself, I do remember that from anatomy...help it by modifying your diet and environment and taking the meds for this disease...

Your in the right place here! 😀

We got cha!!! ❤️
