Mine are trivial questions really but I could really do with some feedback.
If I suffer I suffer in the past year or so with really sore achy feet
My heels are really painful and I’m a girl who loves walking in bare feet. Right now I have my feet up. My heels are creamed with vitamin e cream and I have socks with toes cut out on..
Very attractive!!!
Any advices - thoughts - would be appreciated and you can laugh at me ( I do) because I look ridiculous ...
The other question is I am going to Kerala India to do yoga in two weeks and never take malaria tablets because of my liver but with the terrible floods recently I am wondering if I should .?? Does anyone have second hand specialist advice on the subject . I am already travelling so I can’t access my own doctors
Thanks all

Sounds like you are on quite the adventure so I hope the sore feet will not spoil your journey. A foot bath of Epsom salts in warm water may help with the ache and if the heels are calloused and/or cracked you may find a foot file (not the metal type) like an emery board will help reduce the hard skin and keeping them creamed as you are doing with or without the ridiculous socks is good.
As to any malaria if you are in a malaria region or anywhere come to that walking barefoot can be a risky business, perhaps whilst you are away being barefooted is best only when practising your yoga. There may be a local anti malarial treatment - nothing with deet in the product - maybe use lemon on your skin I believe they use lemon in some east mediterranean countries. Use a net at night to keep you safe during sleep.
I use Incognitto mosquitto repellant which is a totally natural product only recently discovered but used over the last two holidays it has been really effective. Not sure how you would access it as you are already travelling.
Thanks for all your advices particularly round mosquito repellant which I think is really the key. I will look for a natural one as I really don’t want to tame the tablets
Hi. If it's your heels that hurt especially when you first put them on the ground after sitting or getting up in the morning you may have Plantar Facilitus. Ankle, heel exercises can help a few Pilates moves can help it is a long treatment I'm afraid. Google the condition it may give you some help. India maybe the ideal place to get help. Can't help on the Maleria sorry. Enjoy your adventure
What is the problem with malaria tablets? I consulted my GP and there was no contra-indication to taking them with Urso or because I have PBC and I had no side effects from them. Caching malaria is far more serious as having PBC our systems are already compromised! A tip for you in the future if you can access Avon products is their Skin So Soft original dry oil spray which I believe contains citronella and seems to keep the pesky mossies away! Safe travels!
Sounds like plantar fasciitis as Biddyb said. Very painful.
Do exercises prescribed by a physiotherapist or do it yourself:
Get either a spikey rubber ball dogs toy (size of an orange approx) or a small rolling pin or similar and roll your foot back and forth, round and round on top of the ball. Do it again and again. When your having your morning cup of coffee or watching TV, just keep doing the exercise.
Change your shoes frequently so you're wearing different heights of heel and/or different styles. At least every other day or several times a day if you can.
If your shoes have enough room, buy some insoles/orthotics. You can get special ones for plantar fasciitis that are designed to take the pressure off the heel.
If it continues to be a problem, you can buy all sorts of shoes/sandals/flip flops and support socks that are designed with special soles already in place to help with foot problems.
