Hi Everyone

I was diagnosed with PBC in March of this year. Since then my white blood cell count has been going down and now is below normal. I'm seeing a hematologist on Wednesday but would like to know if anyone else has this problem.

I'm having the same issue - my GP has been ordering blood tests every month (for the last three months) and I will be having the fourth one tomorrow, if the levels are still dropping then I will probably be sent to a haematologist also

So, as to what is causing it, I don't know. I did a bit of research (looked at the Mayo Clinic web site, as well as some University sites), didn't particularly like some of the reasons given for the lowering of WCC levels (smiling here) so decided that as I'm Stage 4, with an enlarged spleen (+ low platelets) that the spleen theory was the way to go - I do a lot of self-diagnosis (with a variable success rate), which on occasion has prompted my GP to suggest that my self-diagnosis leaves a lot to be desired. lol.
