Have any of you developed Bullous Pemphigoid with PBC? I have had 3 lesions develop in my groin area... the first was a larger lesion with clear fluid in it about the size of a quarter... then I had 2 more smaller lesions develop shortly following about the size of a dime, however they were red with blood mixed in with the clear liquid. I have never had anything like this before and have not had any since and that was a few months ago. I was not sure of what they were so I popped them with a straight pin and put antibiotic ointment on them and they immediately healed. Then I started to google these lesions and came to realize they look like Bullous blisters. Now I realize I need to show these to the doctor, except it takes me months to get in to see the rheumatologist. Are these normal with PBC?

Bullous Blisters
I dont know if its the same thing but i suffer from Hydradenitis.. Causes groups of abscesses to form anywhere there are sweat glands.. I was once on long term antibiotics for four years just to keep them at bay .. Now only get them occasionally.. But excruciating pain until they burst and then full of pus and blood... You need to take close -up photos of them to take with you to your appointment so they can see the extent. Good luck
I looked this up and looked at some of the images and I have a couple of those also... actually they are not the same as one looks like a pimple that is deep below the surface of the skin and the other is a blister that is at the surface of the skin... both are painful... good idea to take pics... Thanks 😊
Hi Ghosthunter. Thankfully I haven't had Bullous Pemphigoid, but my poor Dad had it severely and was in hopital with it for 10 weeks 11/12 years ago. I believe it is also an autoimmune problem but not connected to PBC. Hopefully yours was only a mild case. Stay well.
Thats what Im afraid of... some of the pics on the internet showing people with severe cases look terrifying 😟
Apparently it can be triggered by certain medications altough the article doesn't say which ones.
just a thought but could they be boils? I have had those and they are painful
Well boils are deeper... these are on the surface separating the top layer of skin, the epidermis, from the dermis layer just below it, and it fills up with a clear liquid... just like when you are wearing a new pair of shoes that gives you a blister. Although some blisters may have some blood mixed in making them look red. Now Lennie1250 was saying in a “Reply” above that they suffer from Hydradenitis which sounds more like what you are talking about, and I do have a few of those also at the top part of my inner thighs... This is all new to me and I will be meeting with my Reumatologist tomorrow so we shall see what she thinks.
