Hello. I looked at my lab work and noticed that my anti-nuclear antibody pattern is positive but my anti-nuclear antibody (hep2) is negative. How can that be?
My AMA is positive but it's the two ANAs that are different that puzzles me. Does anyone know the difference?

Vera70...I looked back st July test when first diagnosed. ANA Cascade was positive. Pattern-speckled. ANA tiger-1:60(normal 1:40). Centromere B antibody suggested possible scleroderma. Negative on all heps & RA.
Phoenix V...also, when my enzymes didn’t come down after 2 weeks off the statin, this is what prompted them to check Mitochondrial M2 & ANA Cascade. If that helps.
Antinuclear antibodies. It's usually positive in other autoimmune diseases like autoimmune hepatitis which I was first diagnosed with before the PBC from positive AMA.
Yes, they were all negative for me except possible schleroderma. Just so much to learn about this mess. We’ll figure it out. We have to stay one step ahead🏃🏼♀️lol!
Can you ask the doctor who ordered it? It can mean different things looking at the whole picture there are so many autoimmune diseases that there are hundreds of different tests for I have positive ANA AMA and I was diagnosed with PBC and Sjogrens with sero negative overlap Lupus/Sjogrens. You can have negative test results and still have the disease in some autoimmune diseases that’s why it’s good to ask your doctor for the interpretation. Let us know what they say.
