Hi members just developed the above has anyone had this and is it a one of or do I have to suffer this along with everything else?
Labyrinthitis: Hi members just developed the... - PBC Foundation
Labyrinthitis
I had a mild episode that lasted a few days a month ago. I don't think it was anything to do with my PBC but I can't be certain. I was on holiday and got so dizzy I fell over. My guide was told that an old women fell down cheeky devil I'm only 54.
I have had it various times I would not have thought it was connected best to ask a professional
Wish you better x
I first experienced it about 12 years ago - early 50s - when the menopause was starting. I had a few bouts of dizziness/vertigo that coincided with my period, then nothing ... until the next month. The third time it happened I saw the GP who sent me to see an ENT specialist. He found nothing at all wrong, and I didn't respond to the various tests they do to rule out various vertigo etc conditions. He sent me for a brain scan to rule out Meniere's disease , and all possible nasties, but all was clear. He said at the time that it can be a common - but lesser known - peri / menopause condition (just in case this 'timing' applies to you).
However, I've had it occasionally since - usually when I'm very stressed. But having gone through the same tests and checks - including scan - a 2nd time, I now find that doing a certain exercise for a few days, helps any dizziness to go away. It involves sitting on the side of the bed, then flopping sideways with head at a set angle, holding for a set time, and then sitting up, and repeating the manoeuvre on the other side ... and repeat whole thing several times. Sadly I can't remember what the exercise is called - and it does have to be done exactly!!! - but if you Google you should find it.
As you are having your first experience of this dizziness, I would go and get it checked with your GP if it continues - just to have anything serious ruled out, but then ask about this exercise. However, I don't think the dizziness is necessarily connected to PBC, but could be stress-related.

Was it the Epley manoeuvre?
I use it for dizzy head.
It may be, but I didn't say that as I cannot be sure. The last time I looked online there were different versions under that name, but as what I was taught works for me, I've stuck to it.
That's why I think Maureen should check it out with a specialist, to be sure it's compatible with labyrinthitis - if that is what she's got ... I think it needs a specialist to differentiate these things, as 3 GPs had said different conditions to me before I saw the specialist: while he didn't actually give mine a name.
NB The exercise is much more precise and complicated than I've said above, so it should be checked out: eg: head, eyes neck etc have to be held at certain angles, and so on.
Thanks i will check it out. As i never had a cold and it did say can be caused by an autoimmune disease.
