Has anyone tried a TENS machine for the itch?
Odd question: Has anyone tried a TENS machine... - PBC Foundation
Odd question
Hi LindyRich,
My husband bought me one, I am at the stage now where I've tried pretty much everything. It didn't work for me, at first I thought it was having some effect but soon realised the novelty of it just took my mind off the itch for a short while.
I am now on the transplant list and for the past 3 months have had a bile drain in so at least getting some relief.
I wish you well, try it, it may help you, we are a!l different.
Take care. Debbie. Xxx
Thank you.
You are right are all different. We have to find what works individually i guess.
I hope you get your op soon
Best wishes
Lindy
Scratty. You have all my sympathy with the itching and scratching. The last few months mine all of the sudden become more tolerable. Hope you get your transplant soon. All the best
Debbie I hope that you get your liver soon. The wait must be hard on you. Stay strong
I think the tens just works on one area at a time..well it does on my back as I have disc problems... At present, although on stage 4 PBC, I only have itching in one area and that is my arm where my skin is now thin and looks pretty sore but apart from the odd bit I am OK at present, i got the arm problem after being in hospital 9 months ago where I had various drips etc so I think it was an infection as it swelled up then. Anyway I hope the tens will help, as in distracting you . All the very best
Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of small areas of PBC itch specifically. I only get the itch occasionally on my back. If i am especially stressed.
If anyone else had used TENS with a measure of success i would get one.
I used to use one years ago for sciatica and it worked quite well. I was unsure about this itch though.
Best wishes
