Tacna Hi. I was hospitalized for 4 days. Ultrasound showed water retention. At first doctor suspected heart or lung problem, as the symptoms were the same. Excessive tiredness, no energy, bloated, feet swollen. Within 48 hours I lost 5 kilograms of weight, that was how ,much water was retained in my body. My Blood pressure was up and down. Went through a rough time, but I am much better now, on new blood pressure medication and water pill I was put on a drip.
How did they get rid of the water retention ? I was recently in emerg for what I thought was a heart attack (it's another stomach ulcer) and asked if there's anything I can do about the excessive water retention from the meds and the dr said no
Becca 75. I was on a drip with medication to get rid of the excessive water. Spent about the whole night in bathroom, think I passed urine 9 times the 1st night in hospital. Now I get a water pill every day and I am so much better. The physician (this PBC is also new to him, and he is 74years old, I am his 2nd patient with this disease.) First time I was admitted they were concentrating on heart and lungs, because I really thought this was it,could not breath, and was even on oxygen as well. Well to loose 5kg in 2 days (my normal weight is 59 to 60kg, and all of the sudden I was gaining weight by the day and feeling more and more fatigue. So ask your GP for a water pill to drink early morning
A bit yes - but I have water retention and Weight gain a lot more now - maybe from the liver but mostly from the prednisone - i look like I'm 6 months pregnant - with the big boobs and big stomach - no neck really anymore and huge face ... (Prednisone moon face)
