I'm presuming your tribunal was against the DWP regarding your claim. The DWP will reassess people every now and then apparently. I suggest you take advice from them that know, perhaps the citizens advice or the people who advised you on your tribunal. Xx

Hello it means you will get an appointment to see someone and answer questions on how it effects you on a daily basis. You must describe your worst days. I had the same problem was awarded one year and had it taken away the next, so I hope you have better luck than me. It really infuriates me it's bad enough having PBC but having to prove yourself to a person who knows nothing about is so wrong. Good luck let me know how you get in. Take letters anything of proof.

I would be interested to know if your claim was based just on your PBC?

As well as that I also have diabetes type 2, fibromyalgia, and arthritis and I repeatedly get turned down based on the point that they accept I have these illnesses and know that they are progressive but at this stage none of them are bad enough !!

How long was your award for at the tribunal hearing as they normally re assess 12 months or so before the end date.

Hi , I was awarded the standard rate of pip a couple of months ago and this award is for 4 yrs before I have to be reassessed . I first applied in march of this year the form is very daunting but I answered every question with how I cope or not cope on my worse days , I took my time and thought of all the little things as well as the big things that this disease affects my day to day life . We say the itching drives us mad but that isn't all it does , we losee sleep due to it , we scar our skin and in my case cause huge bruising then suffer with pain from the bruising , we have to keep our skin from getting too dry this can mean using emoilants upto 5 times a day which is exhausting and time consuming , this is just one example of one of our side effects, I explained all my side effects In great detail and how this makes everyday revolve around PBC and in between we have to fit in things like work and day to day life , I photo copied my form to refresh myself before I had my in person ass and I'm glad I did due to my short term memory not being very good and this ass took over an hr . Don't give in keep fighting this is the only way we get heard and make the powers at B understand and recognise this disease .

Hi Smurf75

I am not sure from your post whether the benefit you are referring to is PIP or ESA. You may be already aware of this but there is an excellent website that provides information on benefits and appealing decisions benefitsandwork.co.uk/

You can sign up for the free newsletters and you can pay to become a member not too expensive, so that you can access specific manuals on how to apply, what to expect as the assessment and on how to appeal.

I have used this website to assist people in my current employment role, and they are very good.

As suggested by Teddybear7 I would also echo the advice to speak with Citizen's Advice or the person who assisted you with the tribunal last time.

Good Luck and let us know how you get on.
