List of foods that are good to eat
Hi sboykin, I've been diagnosed with PBC and sjogrens. I googled an anti inflammatory diet and it works very well for me. I feel the best I can be.
I have a green drink with banana and berries most mornings. You will know yourself what is working by how you feel. I kept a log of things that went into my body and it helped to cut out the bad stuff. Hope this is helpful
Hi Sboykin
There are a lot of previous posts about diet and what to eat, however to me it seems that what works for one person may not work for others. I only recently became more interested in diet as the fatigue seemed to be increasing. I' looked at ghe nutritional value of foods
Sboykin, I use a list of complex carbohydrates to remind me of what is good to eat. I included the simple carbohydrates at the bottom of the list as a reminder of what NOT to be eating. I read labels of everything now and try to buy what has natural ingredients without lots of chemicals. I do so because I want to reduce the load on the liver as much as possible. Drinking water is important and helps with the fatigue for me. The dietary changes have brought a better quality of life this year.for me so I wanted to encourage you in your quest for good foods to eat.
I will post more when I have more time but anyone with PBC needs visit the website liverdoctor.com and buy these 3 books by Dr. Sandra Cabot. 1. The Liver Cleansing Diet, 2. The Healthy Liver & Bowel Book, and 3. Raw Juices Can Save Your Life. I followed and continue to follow the diet plan that she suggests and do a liver juice as often as I can, take Urso and have had excellent results. I live in Windsor, Ontario Canada and I receive IV therapy once a week from a Naturopathic Doctor. One of the IV's that I receive is chock full of all good things for my immune system and the second IV I receive is an IV Push of Glutathione to assist my liver with the detoxification process. The IV therapy is not cheap but it is my life that I am talking about and I cannot put a price on it. I am due for a lab draw this coming week and my IV therapy schedule will be adjusted according to the lab results. The goal is to only receive IV therapy once a month as a maintenance therapy. By following the above protocol, the Naturopathic Doctor and myself were doing the happy dance after my first set of lab results came back. We were shocked at the difference in my numbers which had significantly improved. With determination and discipline, we will be successful! Think positive, healing thoughts my friends and all will be well. I hope this regimen helps those of you who choose to follow it.
hi Nursemperessutti
are you still following the Dr. Sandra Cabot info you describe above ? and how have your levels been since?
thanks
Hi PixyJ
I do continue to follow Dr. Cabots recommendations and I make raw juices at least 3 days per week. I had stopped juicing for a while due to the necessity to travel for work but have resumed doing so. I continue taking Urso and my liver enzymes have returned to being within normal range for quite some time now. My AMA remains elevated but it has decreased by half of what it was when I was first diagnosed. My Naturopathic Doctor stopped all the IV Therapy some time ago and is keeping a close eye on my lab values. I hope this info helps you and brings you good health.
Hi Nursemperessutti . Thanks so much for your information. I'm glad for you that you are keeping well. I also believe in the power of juice. I bought a juicer last November and have been having juice of 2 oranges every morning an hour before food. I've noticed my hair regrowing - a lot of it had fallen out.. so I'm convinced it's the vitamin c into the liver every morning. I'm gonna have to move somewhere they grow oranges at this rate 😁 anyway I will implement more of Sandra Cabots methods in time and hope for continuing health .
