Test results +AMA, GGT 524, ALT 302, AST 86, ALP 158, TSH 6.130, ultrasound enlarged liver and spleen.
Anyone on here with the same or close to same results. If so what was your diagnosis. I am gaining weight like crazy, dizzy, itching, horrible headaches, nausea and sometimes vomiting.

Hello shawnabrns.
I do have my past blood results from when I was going through blood tests and a scan and then the AMA plus other antibodies checks during 2010 but would have to find them to look back and I've not got them with me at the moment.
I was diagnosed with PBC Dec 2010 and started urso.
Itching is prevalent with PBC but also with other liver conditions too. Itching is what took me to see the GP back in March 2010. I was 45 at the time. I was also fatigued then but didn't think much of that as it was the itching that started driving me mad.
My ultrasound was said to look pretty much normal but without checking my bloods I cannot state for definite but my ALP, AST were abnormal and slowly rising during 2010. I didn't have a GGT until I had my first hospital consultant appt at the beginning of November 2010. I also had the antibodies test that day too. My GGT was abnormal too but that is prevalent with liver disorders.
I'm no doctor and I can't translate your bloods really and it seems that we are all diagnosed in various other ways with PBC. I followed the standard NHS route that I actually did find online on an NHS website by having blood repeated and then other blood checks to rule other disorders out (ie was it bone or liver as bone can also give you abnormal LFTs (liver function test), last one prior to seeing the hospital consultant 8 months from originally seeing my GP was for Wilson's Disease (copper overload). My GP ascertained I had a problem in the liver area and not bone and that is how he sent me for the scan.
Had the AMA antibodies not been present (I was said to have a 'high titre' of the anti-mitochondria antibodies (AMAs), the ANA one was negative), I would have had to more than likely be requested to have a liver biopsy.
Also other medications one is on can show abnormal LFTs but a doctor would know here.
Have you been informed yet that you have PBC or are you speculating as naturally I think we do as to whether we have PBC if we stumble across it. I was looking in library ref books back in 2010 myself for liver problems and came across PBC. I never mentioned PBC to any doctor but when I was diagnosed with it I did say I had heard of it as I did find the PBC Foundation website online to read further but also I had hoped I hadn't got PBC either.
I had a sample of urine to take to the first hospital appointment but I never got informed of any problems so I assume it was alright.
I had pain around spleen and pancreas area, also swollen chest area. After few months acupuncture, the pain and swelling went away. Also my lip color is not so dark as well. Energy level increased.
Sincere apologies just realised ur second post said u have had a hysterectomy. I know when I went through my last pregnancy was in great difficulty with my liver and suffered quite bad headaches and some dizzy spells. Could ur weight gain b down to hormone imbalance worth getting checked with Dr. Best of luck hope u feel better soon. X
Hello again shawnabrns.
I have been tidying through my cupboard since I responded to your post and got my blood results out. I have them all from 2010 pre-diagnosis of PBC and also up to last ones January this yr.
The day I was to have the AMA and ANA blood check (as well as 2 others I have just noticed) my LFTs (liver function test) had in fact gone down naturally. My GP took his final ones August 2010 and I had my first hospital appointment beginning November 2010 when I had the bloods repeated as well as the additionals.
My GGT Nov 2010 was showing at 590 and the print out states that between 0 - 65 is classed as normal. My ALT was showing at 176 and the normal range statres between 3 - 53. My ALP was 614 and the normal range between 30 - 130. I don't know about the other ones you have mentioned. I have probably had them but they have been put down under a different terminology. But as you can see mine were abnormal. They have since reduced drastically taking urso for 4 years.
I noticed that on the day I went to the hospital I also had one known as caeruloplasmin that I don't know what that is but it was normal. The other was alpha-1 antitrypsin which was also normal.
It has to be noted that apparently the ALT and the ALP can both see-saw which is one can be high, the other low and vice-versa. Mine go up and down and if I was to get out a chart and plot a graph with my results since 2 months following diagnosis, they'd just make a wavy line.
I think you should buy Sandra Cabot MD liver diet book and follow it - before I was diagnosed with PBC I was able to bring my enzymes right down just by following her diet, I lost weight, normalised my blood pressure and felt great. Only when I came off the diet did my enzymes rise. Now I have been diagnosed I still follow much of her
diet and good advice, she is known as the Australian liver doctor and you can see her on u tube - also she will answer peoples questions if you go on her web page. Hope this is of help.
