I have mental health issues and after an ATOS assessment,in which my answers were written as a complete opposite to what I'd said,I was awarded zero points.Since then,3 months and much paperwork and appointments, blame shifting etc. plus having all benefits suspended and living on the charity of friends,I got a letter today which says that I am now awarded 15 points and my benefits will be reinstated.
I am still angry at how a pack of lies got me into a situation whereby I nearly lost my home,my kids and a partner who is also at breaking point due to the effect this has had on my mental health. It isn't about the money,it's about the precarious situation that many who are unable to fight their corner find themselves in due to the ATOS experience and the absurd conclusions they falsify to juggle the statistics.
If anyone out there is having the same nightmare which I've had this past 3 months, pleases get in touch and I may be able to offer a bit of 'laymans' advice as to stop being frightened by these 'proven 'corrupt people with no morals have your future in the balance, and how you can stop them-if you are a genuine claimant.

Hello Jonjays 61, I found your post about the corrupt and ruthless tactics employed by Atos. ( under instruction from this government of course, ) typical and unsurprising. I have serious and varied physical disabilities too lengthy to go into here, which has the effect of making my day to day life quite a challenge . I was sent a form from DWP a few weeks ago to fill in to quote; '. Decide if I was on the right level of award' . And to say thatnI may be required to attend a medical. Fortunately, I had been diagnosed by The Royal Free as Romberg's positive and my condition is unlikely to improve as due to the Systemic Sclerosis. My neck has all vertebrae damaged quite severely due to a car accident, and a lower back prolapse. I received a reply from DWP within two weeks agreeing that I was /am indeed on the correct rate . But next year, I will be moved from DLA to PIP and I know how ruthless they are.
I am sorry you underwent such a stressful period due to these people. It is a very inhumane system we are having to contend with now. Somehow you got there in the end but not without undue catastrophic threats to the equilibrium of the family as a whole. Congratulations to you for seeing it through. Triumphantly.
I am 'flagging' your post in my emails. I may well be in touch when I have to confront these dreaded Stormtroopers myself in the not too distant future if I may.? It is extremely good of you to offer us the benefit of your experience. Best wishes and good luck.
Just remember to not vote this Draconian government in the coming general election!
must again reiterate, this is complete laymans territory, but luckily met a few more people who have similar experience as our own.To their credit we are organizing ourselves to offer support, someone to attend with you if necessary and to provide an audio recording of your
interview if you feel you need one-I'd very much recommend this- and to help with any grievance you may have in retaining your deserved right to fairness.Again, can't press home enough the fact that our shoulders aren't that big but we'll be honest and do us much to help, advize and support any genuine case of what amounts to bullying vulnerable people.
We will try to travel to you if necessary, again we neither want nor will take any financial gain from any help we can offer and we aren't a professional set up,we are doing this because from our own experiences,we just don't take to the various tactics used in trying to take away your peace of mind, your correct rate of benefit and perhaps more important, keep your spirit up and prove that you don't have to fear these assessment interviews.Do excuse the gap in my replying but, have been trying to get my head around why my case so swiftly turned around and all decisions by ATOS and the DWP miraculously changed in my favour. So,hope to get the same result for anyone else in that situation.Try to keep positive and please keep in touch.
Thank you for your reassurance . These are very stressful times for the genuine claimant. I am very pleased you did not let go of the rag and your story is certain to inspire others to do the same.
cheers, keep well and keep us in mind as just today we have been in touch with someone who is very well versed in the legal side and has kindly offered to give us a bit of his time .Will keep you up to date on things ,look after yourself, keep as positive as you can.
