Does anyone else just have th each/pain under ribs as their only symptom?
I have had this for over a year but haven't been diagnosed with anything yet, all my bloods seem normal and I don't have the itching or fatigue, I have a hospital appointment on Thursday so if they come up with anything I will let you know.
Hi, I was diagnosed 3 years ago. I too have this 'rib ache', feels like a golf ball is under my ribs. Consultant said it skeletal, had a scan but all appears ok. Quite a few people have mentioned about this ache. If you find out anything please let me know. X
It is probably your liver being inflamed and enlarged......that's what I was told! Take care
I have this pain to and like you say it feels like something is growing their,i got diagnosed nearly 12 years ago i feel ok most of the time but my body tells me to slow down when im tired i try not to let it get to me.I also get the pain when trying to sleep.I hope this helps your not alone.Take care.
Hello cazz22.
There is a nerve going via the liver area known as the phrenic nerve and I think it is this that perhaps causes the ache/pain due to the liver being at the time a bit inflamed or inflamed. This nerve tends to be the one that anyone having a liver biopsy can often feel at the point of impact with the needle and it is said to be felt as a temporary sharp pain in the shoulder.
Thanks for all your replies.i don't feel it anywhere but just under my ribs and other than that feel generally fit and well.i wish none of us experienced it but thank you daff to know that I'm not alone.x
I did at times - I found that making sure I eat a low fat(not rich foods) diet has sorted that out. The position you are describing is where your liver and gall bladder are. If avoiding fats doesn't work I'd go and see your doctor. Hope that helps.
I get sharp pains under my ribs, sometimes it is like a burning sensation, it is not my only symptom though, but I do get it.
I find if I don't eat a small meal I get the pain.
