Has anyone in the US had a fibroscan? Was it used in place of biopsy or in addition to biopsy? Hoping fibroscan is an option at MA General

In the UK there are not many fibroscans about (though from what I have read about in advertising for private healthcare they do own more than our NHS). I know a fibroscan in the UK can avoid the need for a biopsy and in the future I expect here in England anyway that there will be more of these machines about and they will replace the need for biopsies.
As in the US I do not know as things seem different. A biopsy seems the norm to check what stage a patient with PBC is at, doesn't appear to be that significant here in the UK and I personally would find one unnecessary if a doctor is certain of PBC diagnose due to symptons, bloods and also a positive AMA.
