Hi Shoda I'm waiting to go into hospital today to have a stent fitted, in my case as a drain and they are to do further tests. That at the moment is all that I know. Good luck with yours. Take care.x

Hi Shoda unfortunately my procedure was unsuccessful this is down to me and my frailty. So more waiting and worrying until the next appointment to find out the next move in my case. But good luck for when you have your stent fitted in your case all will be well.

Take care x

Hi, I had a stent put in when I was taken in hospital last year to drain bile, also because I had a gall stone stuck in my bile-duct. I had sedation so can't remember much about the procedure except I felt them pull it into place. Afterwards there was a little discomfort but not much to worry about. A combination of the stent and steroids got rid of my jaundice.

I had my gall bladder removed in November and the stent was supposed to be removed 6 weeks later. I went in for the procedure had the sedation again and was told that they could not find the stent as it had migrated.

They sometimes migrate/fall out and I was told it needed to be changed every 6 months ideally. I have AIH/PBC overlap.

I am having problems at the moment. Where I felt the stent after it was put in, I am having a tiny bit of discomfort. I go for a scan on 27th June to see what is going on with the bile duct. All I know is it hurts a bit and I can't eat properly because of this discomfort..feels like mid indigestion. If I have to have another put in I will. We have to be careful in our situation.

xx
