The funny thing is that I did have the itch for a few weeks later 2009 but then it vanished. I had no idea the time what it was and just thought it was due to switching jobs and something temporarily. It did turn out to be like that but then 6 months later in 2010 I started with the same itch again but it persisted longer than the few weeks so I ended up seeing a GP.

That was probably a bit of what I'd call a jump start with mine as I'd nothing else except fatigue that started building up and what I thought was due to a new job working much longer hours than I had done in my previous regular 4hrs per day Mon-Fri one.

I think it was due to my LFTs probably fluctuating at the time but ever since I started on urso, my bloods have gone up a bit over 6mths and then down further.

It is apparently possible that one can have PBC symptons disappear and I might not be right but my way of thinking is maybe if you are on urso and your bloods have reached a very low level that are either near normal or normal over time perhaps it becomes as it can, dormant. This dormant can remain so or pick up again at a future date. I expect that this in mind then one wouldn't notice any symptons of PBC?

Regarding the itch I am not sure there whether it would disappear or remain so. I expect it depends on whether the digestive system is by then capable of dealing with bile more efficiently once again.

I'd be interested to know if I might be right or if anyone else out there has actually had this happen to them.

I had dry non-itchy red patches that suddenly appeared on my legs, and back that were attributed to PBC or auto-immune related. This lasted for a few months then they disappeared as suddenly as they appeared. I think this a common factor for auto-immune conditions, sometimes they flair up and sometimes they don't.

I think that certain problems that we had prior to being diagnosed and taking urso were due to PBC but since taking urso, our system isn't as stressed out trying to cope hence certain problems can vanish whilst we are doing well.

I have to say my itching isn't as prevalent as it was at the start but I still have it. Not sure if it will ever vanish but only more time can tell?

I had very itchy skin before I was diagnosed with the PBC. That was why I actually went to the doctor in the first place. The itch has improved dramatically since taking the Ursofalk and I am putting on moisturiser and Bio Oil to try and get rid of some of the scars on my arms and legs. I think stress sometimes brings on the itchiness for me as well in my case.

Hi everyone I am still trying to make a connection between my diagnoses of PBC and my symptoms because when I read the many questions and answers , nothing seems to be the same for me.

The symptoms I have had have been on four separate occasions between Dec 2012 and June 2013.

Starts with extreme aching joints and chill,s sometimes with night sweats, I have bad fatigue where

I cannot go out of the bedroom and just on the most resent flare up I also had diorrea these symptoms are usually a day coming on there for 2 - 6 days and then goes away leaving me feeling normal.

This Month I went to the Doctor about this as

I felt so ill and she looked at my notes from my biopsy and test and she said I only had PBC very mild and these symptoms did not seem related that that illness, I have no itch.

Can anyone give me an opinion.

What was really strange is when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, all my symptoms disappeared, they came back after he was born. My 2nd child now has a chromosome disorder.

Wow.......TY LStonelli for asking the question I've been wanting to ask for awhile. I was diagnosed with PBC 2 years ago, 5 months prior I had a miscarriage and soon after I started to suffer from fatigue, aching joints, horrid creepy crawly sensations in my ears, eyes & nose (I thought my home must have a infestation of fleas or mites and spent a fortune on de-bugging lol)......hence doc app and blood tests that confirmed PBC.........but for the last few months all has been quiet re symptoms plus I can't put it down to meds as I don't take any.......the only thing that has changed is my stress levels.

Have you had blood work done lately? My next bloodwork is in July...I am thinking that is a determining factor. good Luck to you.
