using cyanocobalamin

I posted last week about ordering cyano instead of hydroxo. I used cyano on 2 consecutive days last week, as I have been SI every day the past 10 days due to allergic reaction and ear problems - plus being generally more active. I have been SI EOD for 12 weeks and many of the symptoms had receded. (I am still underactive thyroid, which brings its own joys.) My vits and minerals are all good - see bio.

I used cyano on Wed and Thurs to see if I had a negative response to it. On Thursday night I started with foot pain. Friday morning, it was full on buzzing in feet, slight twitching in soles of feet, and neuropathy in lower legs ankles and feet and past two nights I had to use ice blocks.

Since Friday I'm back to using hyroxo and doing very little. Now it is Sunday and still got the buzzing & neuropathy etc.

Have others experienced this after using cyano?

Thanks!!!

No, I've never heard of cyanocobalamin causing that kind of side effects. It sounds like your nerve endings might be waking up. I like it when my toes start to hurt. It means the nerves are alive.

Thanks. I thought that I had done all that already!

I find combo less effective than hydro. I’m in USA and have managed to get combo prescription for 1x day from my internist. But I also order hydro from Germany and alternate. Then I’m OK with no return of symptoms.

Meant to say Cyno not combo!

My first injection was the (synthetic) cyanocobalamin by provider as that’s the only type they offered due to the pharmaceutical companies they use, ugh. I experienced swelling at the injection site. After that I’ve been SI methylcobalamin, purchased from an “IV salon” for $30 per syringe (I’m in US). I’ve only recently felt well enough to wonder if I can obtain methycobalamin more cost effectively.

I’m sure everyone can react differently to which of the types of B12. Because of my mild reaction and reading the natural type might last longer, I wanted to stack everything in my favor as I was so ill at the time. Wishing you good luck to get to the bottom of your symptoms!

Thank you for replying. I'm wondering if it's low thyroid.
