I take 2 weekly Methylcobalamin injections for suspected b12 deficiency. My legs which were suffering from weakness, burning, sharp pains and tingling seem to be gettng better however I am feeling very just unwell of late. It's hard to explain I just feel ill I believe they call it mailaise. Also Tinninuts is starting to ramp up never really had it before. I have read many on here who say you should take foalte with b12 injections. Is that really necessarry when bloods levels for Folate are ok?
Anyone on here fnd that side effects from injections were lessened by taking folate. I'm already taking electrolytes daily to maintain potasiu levels. All my bvitamins were checked by serum and are all fine.

Everyone needs folate. Whether you need to supplement it depends on your diet, any absorption issues and MTHFR variants. Many people on B12 injections supplement 400mcg folic acid daily. This may or may not be necessary depending on your situation. If your folate by serum results are overrange, that may suggest you could get by on lower supplementation levels. B12 injections do not alter your folate requirement but because B12 and folate are closely linked from a metabolic perspective many people injecting B12 also supplement folate just in case. There are different forms, such as folinic and methylfolate which you might also want to investigate if you do choose to supplement.
