A bit of fortified nutritional yeast and algal EPA/DHA will work just as well. No need to hurt the fish for it. Holford focuses too much on Homocysteine like most of the alternative health and wellness and cholesterol denial crowd, but then its a good way to sell supplements, which is the point. And it distracts people from things they should worry more about, like ApoB, but he can't sell a supplement to treat that.
Elevated homocysteine is an independent risk factor for for cardiovascular disease and should be kept under control. But if you have a healthy diet and lifestyle and are getting adequate B12, shouldn't really be an issue.
you don’t need fish, you need omega 3
I'm an omnivore and fish omega 3 is the nearest to our own brain fat.
