I had a casual game/practice of touch footy today. I haven’t played since February and back then I was struggling with all the B12 symptoms and didn’t know why.
The practice game went well, better than I expected. Will see how I pull up tomorrow lol
I felt really cautious about signing up for the new season but I’ve been doing well at the few small bushwalks I’ve done recently and I’ve got a lovely team (over 30’s comp so not crazy competitive) who have said even if I only play for 10 minutes or half a game, they still want me on the team.
I hope to never take health and fitness for granted after this!

Thanks, it’s just a laid back local comp but it still feels nice to be looked after by them and to be able to play as well! I definitely wouldn’t have thought it was possible even 3 months ago.
I re-joined my gym yesterday 😁 I miss weight training and with a possible arthritis diagnosis coming, I need to get my strength back. Can't wait to tell the trainer about all my ailments I need to work around 🙈 Take it steady, do what feels right. I have made the mistake of doing too much physically a few times and it set me back a bit but it sounds like you're on the right path!
Awesome! I hope that goes really well for you. Do let us know. I have really missed exercising, too, so your positive post has me a little bit excited- thankyou! 😁
I live in Victoria, BC. I played hockey in Australia once. I was on a research trip to Canberra, and I took my hockey gear. It was easier to sign up there - everyone who wanted to drop in got a spot. Here, the hockey I wanted to play this morning filled up 1-2 seconds after enrollment started at 6:30pm last night. They had no change rooms or showers. The people were really nice- mostly Canadians. I had a beer with them after and they gave me a ride back to my hotel. I sometimes workout with Bodi workouts. They can be done at home. Pilates sounds like fun- one class I am taking right now is yoga-pilates fusion. If you can do things like that with your 14-year old, it is cool to do it now. They move out and on too soon.
thats bery exciting! Smart of you to set boundaries for going all in. If needed you may need to i crease the injections to sustain your levels of physical exertion.
Thats what i ended up doing to prevent the depletion from exercise. It takes trial and error to determine what works!!!
Take b-multi daily and some magnesium glucinate just to help ensure those vitamines are sustained.
Im super excited for you. Dont get upset if the process of ramping up is slower than expected. The fact that you have the will is also fantastic.
Thank you! I’ve pulled up ok after the 30 min practice game (a bit shaky and breathless towards the end but settled after resting) but that’s very laid back compared to the comp so I’m going to be monitoring things quite carefully. And taking things sloooooowly. I think I’m used to slow now and don’t get quite so impatient.
I don’t know what it is but my B complex or the magnesium give me insomnia, without fail. I’ve dropped both of them as I need to research it. And I need something without B6 as my levels always skyrocket even with small supplementation.
update: I think even that casual game was too much…I crashed this week. I knew partway through Monday (game was Sunday afternoon) with muscle twitches and buzzing feet and numb fingertips. Then the anxiety came back. And the nausea and brain fog and insomnia.
So it’s been a fun week. Not.
I’m still determined to do something, just not sure that thing is footy just yet.
