Worse anxiety after B12 injections

I've been on B12 injections for 2 weeks and I'm sure it's made my anxiety and panic worse. I'm now in a constant state of panic and it's absolutely deliberating.

I had that it's hard to bear.Perhsos space the I jrctuknx out s bit .

You don't mention frequency .

Our nervous system has s sudden charge causing it all.

It will settle.

Find coping strategies .

I used breathing exercises and aromatherapy .

I also needed pain killers as migraines triggered.

Nevef had thise before.

Tinnitus as well .

Can be s rocky Road to recovery.

Hang in there

I'm only injecting once a week. How long did it help to improve?

Anxiety feelings and heart palpitations were the first to go .I really can't remember but a few months i think.

I went back onto EOD 5 weeks after loading doses .

As needed to get walking

What are you injecting? Are all of your co-factor levels okay? I also have this, but was told it could not be the B12...

I'm taking weekly hydrox and 5mg of folic acid. How about you

I was on EOD for 4 weeks and twice a week for 2 additional weeks. I stopped because of anxiety and panic attacks. I was using hydroxo too. Do you know what your folate level is? Also ferritin level? I have been told that people who experience these symptoms typically have a co-factor out of balance. Is your panic continuous?

Yeah it is continous is yours? I had an iron infusion but I think my folate is low. What are you doing to help your levels?

Have you not had a blood test for folate? My folate is fine, I was supplementing whist injecting though. Why do you think yours is low?

Yes, my anxiety/panic is continuous and as you said it is debilitating. I also had an infusion. Did you see Dr. Klein?

Yes I did did you? Did you have anxiety before you started? I emailed him and he advised to reduce to once a week. I don't know if the folic acid is causing the anxiety as some people said it can. Some people have said reversing out but I can't cope with it as it's just constant. I feel like my chest will explode

Yes I saw Dr. Klein. I also had an infusion. I have had anxiety before, but not like this. He said he has not seen this in other patients before. I spoke to him last week for a long time trying to work things out, but he said if it is the B12 then it should be out of my system within 3 months as red blood cells only live for that long. It's 6 weeks since I last injected...

If taking 5mg of folate daily that might be the culprit. After your prescription has finished and levels are up you might be fine on 200-400mcg as a maintenence daily then

Are you on loading doses? Or already on regular jabs from GP.

Are you injecting methyl? That will give you anxiety.

No the hydroxocobalamin and folic acid

You might be better with a small amount of methylfolate or folinic instead of the large dose of folic. Are you using magnesium? That can be helpful with anxiety, but start slowly. I use Better You mag oil spray on skin, then you can use just a little and build up.

Probably the completely OTT folic acid. As Bookish suggested, try methylfolate or folinic, and in my opinion, at a more sensible dosage like 400mcg to 1mg.

I agree. Too much folate gives me huge anxiety and palpitations and I've never supplemented more than 400mg per day. The good news is if you reduce the dose, this may well dissipate fairly quickly.
