I apology for redundacy of this question but I did a search under "expiration" and did not find anything specific to B12 serum though I know it has been discussed.
Much to my dismay, I discovered my B12 (Pan Pharma depot) expired in Nov. 23 and I did not notice until my injection today. I do have some newer ampoules but I was using these up. So in actuallity my ampoule I used today was 5 months past expiry date. I never notice that much difference between shots, but my blood tests confirm my shots have been getting into my cells, though I stopped checking and have actually increased my frequency anyway.
Any opinion on the potency of Pan pharma 5 months past expiration.
Sorry to bother with this redundant question, I tried to get Pan Pharma several times in the last months and havent been able to. I did get some in October though, thank Heavens. It seems I got it in the narrow window between availability and non-availability. I get mine from Marien-Brunne apotheke.

Probably not a good idea to use expired ampoules. I injected with ampoules from about 4 months before expiry and began to realise that they'd lost potency. I made that evaluation on symptom return.
The expiry date is there to protect you. It also enables you to 'stock rotate' and make sure you use stuff in order. Would it still work past the expiry date? Well, hard to say, but something given 5 years shelf life at manufacture isn't going to stop working on 5 years plus a day; at the end of its shelf life it should be just as potent as when manufactured. Consider the tin of baked beans in the cupboard! If you use stuff beyond expiry, you've no come-back on the manufacturer.
So, in summary, only use them in an abolsute emergency, but ideally, bin them and use fresh once you have them. Learn from this and rotate your stock. [I could say this in my local supermarket, but it'd fall on deaf ears.]
From my experience in the cosmetics industry, potency declines from the moment manufacture is completed.
So the ‘Use By’ date on any preparation is set for when the potency is likely to have declined by a certain amount. But not huge - 10-15% likely. And the decline is linear; it doesn’t suddenly fall off a cliff.
It’s also the case that it doesn’t (indeed mustn’t) decline into anything harmful; we just increased the frequency of injections when running out an old batch.
thanks all who answered my question. I guess I have been using expired serum for 5 months. i shall dump the (thankfully) one left and move on to the B12 that expires in 2025. Hopefully before then, it will be easier again to obtain from the US.
