methylcobalamin

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get a private prescription for methylcobalamin, given it's not available on the NHS? I am allergic to hydroxocobalamin, so have injectible cyanocobalamin 3-weekly, but it's not available at present and unlikely to be for at least a few months. It's almost 7 weeks since my last injection and I am really beginning to struggle.

thanks for any information.

Sue

hello ren41, you do not need a prescription for injectable methylcobalamin . You buy it as small bottled dry powder that is either 20 mg or 40 mg, reconstituted with 10ml injectible sterile Saline.

Here is link to buy from Oxford Bio : oxfordbiosciences.com/store...

Their B12 Resources section gives more information regarding needles and saline.

If you need more help/informatiom please ask. Or check my posts replies. x

Thanks very much, Wheat. I think I've heard I might be able to get cyanocobalamin from pharmacies in Germany, with a prescription. It's probably best to stick with it, as that's what I'm used to. If anyone has ordered that way, can they share where they ordered from, please?

thanks very much, that's great - I'll have a look at those straight away. I as hoping Cytamen would only be OOS for a short time so I could hang on but that's clearly not going to be the case!

Hello ren4, I have just seen your post about Cyanocobalamin. I bought some by accident from a German website by not noticing that the word Depot was missing from the description. I have some Pascoe 1000mcg. Unfortunately I do not know how to message you directly about this but if you are able to message me privately I will give you some more info. Expiry date is 03/2026.

But, as far as I know, you do need a prescription for injectable saline.

Hello, I imagine you do in UK. However, mine was from Germany and no prescription needed, (unless legal requirement's have changed in last few months ).
