Hi all, just curious if any have experienced any issues with your mouth such as lumps that form in my lip. It eventually starts to drain à thick, clear substance . It always returns in the same spot. It's not painful. I've been on the B12 deficiency roller coaster for about 4 yrs and si every other day. I don't know if it's related. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also have hypothyroidism and I think possibly Reynauds syndrome.

Mouth issues
I would have problems with a form of acme but they are not white puss but instead bleed. . . . B2 Def has a bearing on cracks at the side of the mouth plus other things similar and B6 to me helps prevent the acme as you need B6 along with B12 and I can only speak for myself but I dont seem to absorb most of these water based vitamins. . . . . Maybe nothing to do with your problem but it may set you thinking. . . .
Ulcers can be folate deficiency. I've had alot of dental problems.
I asked the dentist if b12 deficiency affects gums and mouth.
His answer was of course it does.
If you can get an appointment I would see a good dentist to check it out.
YES!!!! I absolutely have bumps in my mouth that fill with clear thick mucus. I have had it for over 10 years and no one knows what it is. It has gotten somewhat better with b12 but I still have them. In the lips, they hurt. But I can pop them all day long. You are the only other person to say they have these. I'm sorry I can't help you with what they are but I have them.
I'm borderline hypothyroid. But on no meds as I go in and out of borderline. So they won't test me. I am hopefully getting a mayo clinic appointment and the bumps are a more question for me. If I find out anything I'll let your know. Also, my teeth are crumbling. And two of them were disintegrating, And it wasn't cavities. They never saw anything like it is what they said. They treated it like a cavity and it has stopped it, but it was very quick moving damage. In days the tooth had a huge hole.
My gums bleed and are tender. Mr lips chap and get tender and my tongue is enlarged and raw feeling on the edges and tip. I choke on my food a lot.
Also, Nana321, my mucus in my face is very thick. My face is swollen in the mornings and I cough up thick phlegm and my nose is so stuffed with thick mucus. I had to pull it out of my throat it was so thick and I couldn't cough it out. Sorry it's gross but true and a real pain. I worry about pneumonia when I have to lay around because I can't walk well. And my skin is very dry. I have terrible dry mouth all day all night. The only thing that helps is sour candies. Also, thick film in my eyes and my eartubes get clogged and my face swells. Not often but twice now. I don't know if all that is linked but that is everything ear noise and throat that I have.
Thank you Ellanore for your response. Yes, it sounds like my issue, exactly. I have no problems with my teeth but I do have quite a few of your other symptoms. Extensive sinus problems, swollen face, very dry skin, gummy eyes. It's probable that there is a link between sinus and mouth. I'd like to know the cause and if there's preventative measures. Good luck!
Well, if I find anything out, I will post it. I keep mentioning it to docs but no one says anything. It is always amongst a ton of other symptoms. I am going to specifically ask them point blank what this is.
This is what I find when googling it.
Why do I get fluid filled bumps in my mouth?
A mucous cyst, also known as a mucocele, is a fluid-filled swelling that occurs on the lip or the mouth. The cyst develops when the mouth's salivary glands become plugged with mucus. Most cysts are on the lower lip, but they can occur anywhere inside your mouth. They're usually temporary and painless.
The question is, what is making our mucus so thick and making it clog our glands? My guess is B12 or some other deficiency.
My tiny bumps are all over my mouth with larger ones in my lips. They can get quite hard. That is when mine hurt. I pop them. I have a ganglion cyst on my wrist and the same clear thick fluid comes out of that. I get lots of tiny blister like bumps on the inside of my cheeks. I am not sure, but salt might make it worse and salsa, which I love. But sour keeps my mouth watering and open so sour for me is good. Lemon, vinegar, sour candies. Drinking water I keep thinking will thin it, but really nothing has helped me with the thick mucus or swollen face. It is affecting my lungs. Good luck. I have to run to town. Have a nice day.
My limited amount of spots recur more or less in the saem areas and can go away again just as easily but they damned sore at times. . . .If it were not for B6 I could only use B12 about once per week if that and I'd be exhausted way worse than I am. . . . . . . B2 has an effect on mucus glands. . . . . . The only thing pulmanary can guess at for my bad chest is post nasal drip and I'd agree with them . . . . But my glands in my neck were always sore and even my throat at the worst points. The worse the chest the worse the glands and throat until I could barely turn my head. . . . I am not talking normal sore throat bug type sore throat . . . . It is not sore inside where you get like hoarse kinda thing . . . . . But my thyroed tests so far have been clear for years. . . . . . . I got prescribed Dymista a simple nasal spray, plus I use saline in a nebuliser and dont be thinking a nebuliser is only for chest it helps clear sinus problems really well . . . . Occasionally I use a Ambroxol Inhalat which is from the Pulmanaria family of plants .. . . . I have been using B2 SI about every 10 days for about 6 weeks now and I think it may be helping these sore glands and throat. . . . Lack of fluids play a huge part in having mucus thin enough to do its job. . . . . . .
I have these as well, I can get stuff out of them. one got so infected I was taken out. Apparently saliva gland getting blocked.
