Has Anyone Watched The Film?

Whilst looking online elsewhere at B12 issues I came across a film (American) which on further investigation was a dramatisation of Sally Pacholok’s book ‘It Could Be B12’. The film was simply called ‘Sally Pacholok’. It’s on YouTube.

It wouldn’t have won any Oscars but it still does a good job of highlighting the ignorance and arrogant dismissiveness of much of the medical profession, and the treatment of ‘whistleblowers’.

There was an interesting collage of videos of enlightened medics, recovering sufferers giving their thoughts and sadly an instance of avoidable death of a young child. Worth a watch if you haven’t.

A few of the people/actors are the real actual folks. . . . . . . Yes the acting is not the best. . . . The pediatricians story is quite something I thought. . . . . . The whole thing is quite something. . . . . It was a big insight into the madness of systems. . . . . . Perhaps good job ye brought it up as there are alwasy newcomers who it may help or more important help their families. . . . . I see Clivealive has put the link on, , Good man yet again. . . . . . .

I just watched it and cried most of the movie. It breaks my heart that so many people suffer. I hurt for my own experience too. I didn't know that megloblastic anemia was late stage. I was showing it since my 20s when I was first tested for it, along with numbness and tingling. Doc kept testing me for diabetes year after year. Sent me to a podiatrist. F'ing medical malpractice. Took me around 25 years to get a diagnosis from the time I was old enough to start going to the doc when I got a job with health insurance. As a teen parents kept saying I was mentally ill and sent me to therapy and psych ward, I tried committing suicide, I went to a special Ed school for children with behavior and learning problems. I always knew i didn't have mental health problems and it was something physical. I kept telling them but it just further made me look crazy and like a bad kid.

I have to control myself from getting myself so angry. Because I have been able, to a large degree, get back to a reasonably normal life by SI, I think I’m more angry and close to tears when I read stories like yours. Medical professionals are supposed to be seeking to alleviate suffering but in our case many can be so callous it beggars belief when there is so much research out there along with the growing testimonies of thousands if not millions globally. Surely they can’t think we’re all imagining it or looking for attention. 😡

Yes, we watched it last year. It is excellent, although like you said, not Oscar-worthy except in its premise. I get the same kind of glassy-eyed docs here in the U.S. and they know less about B12 and PA than most of us on this forum.
