Anxiety relief

Other than getting the right amount of B12, has anyone found something that helps with the anxiety aspects of deficiency and PA? Medication or therapy.

On numerous occasions my GP and neurologists have suggested antidepressants but I’m very loathe to do down that route. Even the medication being suggested for neuropathy (Pregabalin) is an antidepressant.

Thanks.

I find taking magnesium glycinate and l threonate and doing square breathing and yoga help, also vitamin d also called the happy hormone is essential.

Thank you Parlay. I’m already laying 1000 IU Vitamin D a day for general health and it’s not noticeably helping with the anxiety. Interestingly I’ve been considering Magnesium Glycinate - how much do you take and does it have any side effects? I’ve been trying to get to grips with breathing exercises but must try harder!

Somebody called jon kabot zinn does a really good job of teaching meditation. Has your vit D been tested. You are not taking enough, you need more like 3,000iu, more than that if deficient.

I found mindfulness and meditation helped me - but mindfulness techniques don't necessarily work for everyone.

magnesium supplements are very helpful. Surprisingly, low iron can cause anxiety and depression. Also, try cutting back on caffeine.

Thanks, I’m going to try Magnesium Glycinate as a few have recommended that. I’ve dropped my caffeine significant over the last year but still like a coffee. Decaf after midday!

I was exactly the same when my ferritin was at its lowest MoKayD . B12 helps, but it seems iron/ferritin was a definite piece in the jigsaw for me.

Based on my personal experiences, lithium orotate is an OTC mineral that may be helpful for your anxiety. The linked article might be interesting to you.

I recently upped my folic acid and it’s lowered my baseline anxiety to the point I’m struggling to get things done. 😬 I’ve also got ADHD and using anxiety to increase task urgency has been a life long strategy (if not a great one well-being wise).
