Has anyone experienced burning stomach pain after taking cider vinegar. Yesterday I had 2 teaspoons before dinner, afterwards I started with burning pains in my stomach which kept me up all night I didn't go to sleep until 6am. Has anyone else had similar side effects? I usually have lime juice .

hello Heliborous, I have no problem with acv as long as I dilute properly, otherwise its quite acidic and hurts my throat.

The only time I had burning stomach was when I took too many betaine hcl capsules. Then I attributed (after researching) the burning to a weakened/damaged stomach lining. I wonder if this is your problem. x

Hi Wheat, thank you I did dilute CV in about 125ml warm water. My stomach is damaged because of Atrophic Gastritis but as you probably were I am trying to assist my digestion

The only thing I can suggest is you take acv mid meal and/ or end of meal ie not on an empty stomach. Hope you find your solution soon x🙂

Yes. Cider vinegar too strong for me.

I’ve found it best to dilute the ACV with about half a tumbler of water and drink it with my main meal not before eating.

Thank you Showgem, I drank a little before, during and after but it still left me with a burning sensation so won'won't be having again.

Yes, tried organic apple cidre vinegar (with the mother) diluted in a small glass of water, absolute agony for me and took a few weeks to resolve. Tried twice several years apart, same reaction. Never again. I was told this was a good way to increase stomach acid and aid absorption but my tummy can't tolerate it. I would imagine regular cidre vinegar would do the same. I don't have any obvious regular gastric symptoms but I can get upset easily. Anything that is supposed to 'help' with digestion wrecks havoc for me personally but everyone is different so you have to do your own experiments, carefully!

Thank you Bertiepuss carefully indeed

That's the best type and the one I've used. I preferred to use it in a salad dressing for example, with olive oil etc,- much easier to take that way.

Delicious that way and no stomach burning. But as a drink, no, felt like my insides were trying to crawl out of my mouth to escape!
