too much or not enough???

totallyFrustrated profile image

been s/I ing now for 20 days or so and feeling rotten. Particularly today ataxia awful, fall over every time I close my eyes. This is worse than it has ever been even before S/I

Could be I am reversing out... so how do I help my body to feel better, should I inject daily or should I back off and inject less frequently?

I know you guys ( and gals) cannot advise me, but hearing what your experience was when you went through this might help reassure me. At the moment I feel like my brain is losing it's marbles, cannot even focus on staying upright, no chance to focus on reading a book or even watching tv. How can I possibly go back to work without a brain???

Really would like to know if I ought to inject daily or if I need to back off, either one, if I choose the wrong one could make me worse, and I'd rather choose the one my body needs to get better, or over the hump, or through the reversing out....

It has taken me a year of SI EOD to have a semblance of how I was before PA. There are so many setbacks if I go over my ever-changing limitations. For me, it's about the continuous management of disappointment and thwarted hope and expectation.

so sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad, that the best you can hope for is coping with the disappointment. I hope that will change for you soon and you can enjoy the kind of health and happiness again that you may have last experienced in your childhood.

Fortunately, I have regained my hope after the first 3 injections - where there was hopelessness , despair and frustration, there is now hope and I can do this and it's just about learning how to.... sometimes I will have to find my own way, but as you guys and gals already invented the wheel, I can always ask you for help, that is such a great comfort, so thank you all , every one of you. who ever posted anything on here, as it is here for me to read, in my own time, and I am sure that the information I so desperately need will find me :D

All the best to you and all your loved ones, who are all part of our story

Might be that you've burned up some other vitamins? When I started loading up, I went through a low patch which then resolved with some folate supplements (5mg daily for 2 months, prescription only in UK). I didn't have a blood test, I just asked my GP (I'm a pharmacist and my husband a doctor, so we tend to be listened to slightly more than others I suspect).

thank you Sailing lady, I wish I was listened to a bit more, I have been reprting falls on a regular basis and that I bought myself a zimmer to help me get around the house without falling over 10 years ago, and then the GP just asked where I got the zimmer from. When he heard I bought it from the charity shop he lost all interest.....

I am taking Methyltetrahydrofolate 1000 micro gram 2 a day, shall I make that 5? My folate, iron and everything on the blood test was within range, but that was before I started S/Is, I also take P-5-P, Mg bisglycinate, or citrate, depending on if I am good and not eating grains...ionic Zinc, Vit D3K2. I also take anti-homocysteine support 2x a week, and a vit A 400iu once a week.

I feel better on the day after I s/i, than on the day, so could i feel like this if I injected every day?

Or am I feeling less well on the day of S/I because it is too much too soon for my body? I am just feeling my way around this, and having felt so bad for probably 20+ years, it is hard to even know What I am feeling.

Thank you so much for replying, it is really good to know I am not alone .....

Hi, obviously everyone is different on here…. But in my particular experience, at one point I was taking a mixture of injections and sublingual tablets at once, and I found the more I took the worse I felt, after doing some research and reading many forums on here, I found that you can’t over dose from b12, but it can cause over stimulation in the body, any excess b12 your body doesn’t need is disposed of, but whilst it’s in the body it can cause symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, anxiety, nervousness, palpitations and pins and needles, too little isn’t good…. But too much is also not good….. oxygen, water, minerals and vitamins are all very important, but if you get to much of any of them it can cause issues.

I’d come off it for a week to let your symptoms calm down, then start the b12 again but on a lower dose.

Thank you Marvel for your input, it is so useful to hear other peoples experiences, and to hear that what I feel is not unusual or all in my head. thank you all and everyone of you for your patience with me and your kind understanding. I suppose a few month or years down the line, I will be less of a board hogging person and a bit more use to you all
