good morning all, well i'm so blessed the other day I was led to a methylfolate that does not bother my stomach. I have found that when I tried it my brain felt so much better. so now that I can take it I was wondering how much I should take, I inject everyday twice a day then one at night 1 ml. so should I take 400 or 800 mcg?

If you are eating a diet that contains a good quantity of fresh fruit and vegetables, then 400 mcg would certainly be adequate. Green-leaved vegetables and citrus fruit are particularly high in folate . Fruit and veg have the advantage of providing other additional vitamins , minerals, trace elements and fibre .

I can’t express the huge advantages of fresh fruit and veg highly enough .

Best wishes .

good morning and thank you all for your help, so my blood work recently was at 2 for folate but I do have the gene for trouble processing folate mthfr, but i never really thought that it mattered my homocystienand mma was always great so I was told by my hemo dr that I was methylating and noproblems, but I had tried this methyl folate that was leading me to a blessing because I felt so much better in my brain and nerves so I learned that it does make a difference with the methyl folate . I tried it before but with other brands and I had horrible stomach issues and anxiety with it but this one works so smooth Jesus is so good to me. this one works.

My specialist wanted my level to be high - around 17ug/L - while injecting every other day; I think to ensure good usage of B12 in the early days of repair. I need to determine how much is needed now, a year in. I did run out of high strength 5mg folic acid a few months ago and really noticed the return of twitching and general weirdness.

Not surprised - as it works hand in hand with B12 and there is no science based evidence that it will harm you.

I'm currently taking 5mg on injection days and awaiting blood tests in Feb/March to see where levels are.
