Thanks MoKayD. TikTok has a lot to answer for. Excluding the most serious rare variants which cause severe problems in infancy, the most serious common variant may result in 16% lower serum folate. That's pretty easy to remedy with a decent diet that includes a good amount of legumes/veg. Getting 1mg (2.5 times the RDA) is quite achievable if eating mostly whole foods. If vegetables are trying to kill you, then reasonable supplementation of a folate form that suits you should also work fine.
