Hi all

Does anyone know anything about an injection device that doesn’t need you to inject a needle?

It may be Australian?

Thank you in advance folks!

I always envied patients on Star Trek as Dr McCoy had a needleless injector. And now one has been invented. Brilliant!!! Sadly I don't think it will work for B12 as a B12 molecule is very large.

The skin is pierced , but not by a needle . Just the pressure of the spring involved ( as far as I can make out not having even seen the device )

The needleless injector works with compressed air. In Star Trek Dr McCoy had something similar - you could hear a hiss when he used it.

Hi Guys

I think these are way out of my price range and ideally if I was to consider one I would not want to be confined to one type of B12.

I think this is a non starter.

Hi Dot I have a spare autoinjector in a nice little wallet/case , it’s the second time I bought one the first one I had was too heavy for me this one is much lighter but I still get the heebie jeebies,it’s just simpler for me to inject as usual. Pm me your details and I’ll post it off for you. I’ts completely unused. X

What are you using and where can I get one please? Cannot get my head around the specifics with this. I IM but would welcome SC if easier with an injector.

I started looking into this as SI is getting harder for me now. I found this but it's not cheap:

Hi Mixteca

What size needle do you use? What aspect of SI is difficult? If it’s dexterity then it may be that an auto injector MAY help but you need sufficient dexterity to load it. I will see if I can get clarity on what is needed.

Thank you! I use a 0.8mm safety needle to inject IM and a 25mm to withdraw from ampule. I tried SC in the early months and found my sister's non-safety needles flimsy by comparison and found the process/technique harder. I've lost much body fat so that won't help and the nerve/muscle/tissue, whatever it is, makes stomach area more uncomfortable - not sure about how other areas would feel as everything hurts! I had no issues with dexterity when I tried SC but that's another difficulty I'm having now (with the SI part, not loading).

I also like the idea of a slower release of B12. Just noticed I misread your question - SI not SC...as I get worse it's harder to inject - I'm too ill to be doing this on my own, that is the problem. It's so hard now I worry I won't be able to inject at all.

Hi Mixteca sorry I’ve had a busy day I’m all yours now lol..

I’ve never used the auto injector even though I bought two different types to try so I can’t tell you much other than if your struggling with dexterity then I personally wouldn’t recommend you buy one as I found them too fiddly myself, is there no one you can ask even to load up for you? Sometimes that could maybe help take the stress out of the whole process for you then you can just focus on getting that dose in..

You will get stronger faster if you can get this b12 in at regular periods..I use my upper arms like nurse does I’ve tried sc in my tummy ,always 2 inches away from belly button, and didn’t like it either and as yet have never done thighs, different strokes for different folks as they say,I’m sure you can also do sc on the legs or arms if you can’t tolerate tummy so maybe have a search on you tube for some videos on it. Best of luck x
