Hi I wonder if any one has any information I was diagnosed with pernicious Anaemia in 2021 I had a course of injections initially and now I have a jab every 11 weeks.

I work as a Dental Nurse and assist with Inhalation Sedation a mix of 02 & N20 I have tried numerous times to find information if this is still safe for me to do but not even my doctor or occupational health have any answers primarily we treat children or anxious adults .

Does anyone no of any research that has been done regarding this or does anyone know if this is still ok for me to do.

Thank you I’m advance.

Nitrous oxide/ entinox is known to deplete b12 If that's what N2O is?

Midwives highlighted this.

If you are having regular b12 injections and are able to work in my mind is your answer.

I expect it depends on ventilation, hours exposed to it ect.

It's been in the news .

I haven't any papers with research.

Others might ?

The short answer is yes but much depends on the levels of exposure. If you have high exposure because the gas recovery system used at your surgery is poor then this would likely lower your b12 or inactivate b12 in your body.

Many health workers exposed to high levels of nitrous oxide have health problems because of depletion of b12 so you should investigate the system used where you work. If you do a Google search you should find articles on this, sorry but I don’t know how to add links to my reply.

Do you have symptoms of b12 deficiency? If so you should be having b12 injections more frequently.
