The linked article is ostensibly about a connection between proton pump inhibitors and hearing loss. Much of the article actually descibes several causes of B12 deficiency.

Thank you so very much for that article WiscGuy It is so important to realise how evil PPIs can be when used over longer periods . It is a great article that should be read by every GP. . Thanks again .

Thanks for the PPI post. Terrifying and horrifying. Personally, I think their side effects are so egregious that their use should be seriously reconsidered. How can NICE approve such a drug when they ration B12? Beggars belief.

Yes , it is shocking to realise that NICE approve of the evil PPIs but make life difficult for P.A. patients who need harmless B12 injections which have no bad side effects . It’s total madness .

On reading this article I found this glaring error......

......There, nitrite (nitric acid) can be reduced to nitric oxide (NO) due to the low pH....

NITRITE is a salt of NITROUS acid, not nitric. Nitric acid forms NITRATES.

Haven't read the rest. That mistake made me distrust the whole.

I already knew how evil PPIs are . It has been translated from Polish and someone has slipped up

. No need to distrust the rest of the article .
