I feel weird after taking meconerv forte and ginsomin. Is it advisable to continue combining them with ligaba?

I have been on ulcer drugs for years. My latest symptoms made my doctor place me on pariet, meconerv forte, ginsomin, melotamin and ligaba. I discovered that I feel very low mood after taking the drugs. Stomach, chaste, waist and back pains; insomnia, muscle twitching, tingling sensation, lethargy, fatigue, racing heart, fast pulse rate were among the frequent symptoms.Recently, because pariet was suspected to have interfered with the vitamins absorption, it was withdrawn. Melatonin was withdrawn because of worsening stomach ache. I have weight gain and other associated side effects with ligaba but any day I fail to take it, the sleeplessness worsens. The doctor shows less concern about the side effects. I'm scared. Should I continue taking the ligaba?I would need suggestions from your experiences please .

Hi Orimini, no one here can tell you whether to start or stop any medication - we are not medically trained and it's against forum guidelines.

I can say however that people here have taken or do take Pregabalin (Ligaba) , so maybe some of them will reply here with their experiences.

Pariet seems to be Rabeprazole - one of the 'prazoles that reduces stomach acid. Yes it will block absorption of vitamins/minerals because it reduces stomach acid. These medications are not meant for long-term use. Any of those types of medications give me stomach problems because I have low stomach acid, like many others here - common in B12 deficiency and hypothyroidism.

The meconerv forte - is that by injection or tablet? The tablet seems to have only has 3mg of B6 but the injection has much higher doses, and too much B6 can be toxic.

Melatonin - I never got along well with it, left me very groggy in the mornings - as well as low mood, cranky, irritable.

For me , low folate also gives low mood.

Are you continuing with cyano injections? Low B12 also contributes to low mood in some people.

Thanks a lot jade_s. Like you rightly said, the people in here are not my doctor. I'm only seeking the contribution of those who might have had experience of what I am passing through. I'm not sure many doctors know better than those who have had the experience. I'm taking meconerv forte capsules. This I do alongside ginsomin ( multivitamins). Melatonin is for sleep and after taking it I feel odd in the morning. Ligaba helps relax the nerves but I noticed that the side effects are something else. I have added 5kg within 2 months of taking it. My problem now is that if I don't take it I feel agitated and sleeplessness. Has anyone had such experience with ligaba?

Orimini, a pharmacist will be in a better position than your doctor to advise on drug interaction.

For some reason, methylcobalamin as a tablet doesn't suit me. There are studies that show that cyanocobalamin tablets work better. I have found that Methylcobalamin tablets have an immediate effect but cyanocobalamin tablets give a more stable and lasting effect, although they can take time to act. You can try switching to cyanocobalamin tablets if you are not finding relief with methylcobalamin tablets.
