I make my self treatment decisions with the understanding I am working towards a biochemical solution.

Changing one thing at a time is often touted as some strict and novel approach.

This does not make sense to me when supplementing. Simplistic example; If you supplement with B12 then add B6 you will have two results to evaluate against no supplementation.

I have morphed into thinking my body can adjust if I can come close enough. I also see my body working differently over time which means prior supplementation changes are no longer applicable.

I jabber at a 76 year old friend about my supplementation. He decided to try Centrum Silver a supplement for seniors. The change has been remarkable. Most noticeable in lack of pain, sleep and more energy. It has been 40 days and it seems to be real for him.

I also see B12 as a vitamin that I was deficient in for reasons not completely known. All other vitamins may be affected by that deficiency in ways that are unknown.

As I write it occurs to me I need to put together a comprehensive list of tests that should be done and submit it to my GP and see which ones they will order. Will also have to get documentation from my insurance company as that excuse has been used in the past. Not looking forward to that work or dealing with my GP.

Any of you created a comprehensive list of tests? Using the assumption that none have been done as the place to start?

Comprehensive test list for which condition? B12D? Or specifically vitamins/minerals? Or "everything"?

My approach is what test should have been done when my levels were lower than the lab at the hospital measured.

Off the top of my head. Thyroid tests other than the standard TSH test. Addison's Disease. Conditions that are associated with B12 deficiency and often missed.

I am thinking I will use the tests listed in theb12society.com/treatment as a minimum.

Although I write about why the medical professionals act the way they do, for this project I will use the methodology of predicting what they will do.

In the past when I asked for a test they would tell me my insurance will not cover the tests as a way to avoid ordering the tests.

I am fortunate in that I can write and it becomes part of my record so if the tests turn out to have been necessary in the future they may have some liability. Although I am aware that in the USA those in the medical field have no oversight at all other than the courts. And they are only somewhat libel in the civil courts. They are all but immune from criminal charges.

As I write it becomes obvious that my relationship my GP is an adversarial relationship. I happen to be good at that. It is fun for me when I am getting paid to deal with it.

I am well versed in being correct with authorities and giving them a way to maintain their personal view of themselves as all knowing. Although I have to be prepared to do that.

As I write I understand that I have to deal with my emotions about having to put the effort into doing what any GP is paid to do. I may just decide to hope my supplementation is adequate and the testing is not worth the effort.

As I write it occurs to me that I should complete a check list with my symptoms that are not resolved.
