I was excited when I discovered such a test existed. I can not get it without a prescription and there is little data on what the levels might mean other than what the medical field might see as important.
I share it only as it does seem there is some movement towards seeing a difference between IF and Transcobalamin which may lead to effective treatment for Transcobalamin issues.
There is a hang up in that it is assumed anyone with Transcobalamin issues must have a genetic defect and dead. Some scientists are getting past that.
Who knows someone else might take it somewhere helpful.

Except if you are already on injections, UBBC will be low by default.
And based on the papers I've read, in each case of low UBBC there was a mutation on TCN2. I'm happy to be corrected if anyone has found low UBBC implicated in the absence of a TCN2 mutation.
Thank you for sharing though! This may be of use to someone who has not yet started treatment and is seeking a diagnosis. I do wish I'd had this tested prior to injections.
