In my reading here I have not come across a electrolyte panel test being mentioned. Perhaps as that test is commonly done. In the USA it is called a total metabolic panel.
The test is not directly related to B12 deficiency either diagnostically or measuring the effectiveness of treatment as far as I know.
I am thinking that it is helpful to look at the results because of one of the measurements is 'off' than it would make sense to correct it so the body has the best chance possible to heal with the least amount of effort.

I have had all the tests that my GP and various consultants could think of over the past six or seven years - and I haven't had one of those that I can recall.
You probably have not come across it as it is included in a full blood count test in the UK. Mainly it is used to look at sodium and potassium levels although others can be include for specific diseases but not PA
