BBC News: Netherlands to ban laughing gas from January:
good news
PS. Perhaps I should add this link although I couldn’t find anything that specifically mentioned B12, apart from Daily Mail :
Yes that’s good news for the Dutch . Glad to read that depletion of B12 was mentioned .
Just looked on Amazon. Freely advertised for sale in U.K. .
This is an old BBC article from 2020 that mentions vitamin B12
It's encouraging to see progressive countries recognise the severe dangers of the drug. Other street drugs are of course dangerous too, but in many ways less dangerous than taking too much 'noz' and deactivating your B12 stores. Most drug users 'OD' when they become addicts and overwhelm the body over time. Few of them leave such severe consequences such as paralysis.
Fingers crossed the UK follows suit.
Looks like the The British Compressed Gases Association is pushing the Home Sec Suella Braverman to do the same: expressandstar.com/news/uk-...
Serendipity ? 😍
Went to bed early to read my current book, “The Year of Living Danishly:….” on Kindle and almost immediately came across:
“ Another area that Danes seem to excel is in research. A staggering number of new medical and pharmaceutical finds come out of Denmark and in the last week alone Danish scientists have made the headlines for new discoveries about asthma, vitamin B12 and preventing heart attacks, to name but three. ‘ We have good databases that go back in time and provide resources for research’. “
More interesting facts on the enviable Danish health care system :
* Like our NHS, it’s free
* Viking spirit dictates they stick to natural remedies wherever possible when it comes to minor ailments.
* “……It’s free to study, there’s always new work being done, and so new findings and discoveries. And the results get used. CURES AND TREATMENTS CAN GO INTO PRACTICE VERY QUICKLY IN DENMARK. “
* “ The e-health system is a cheap way to make people feel comfortable and keep them out of hospitals and we can then use the rest of the money in the government’s budget on roads, education, etc”.
* “Studies show that patients who are well prepared and feel co-responsible and invested in their own healthcare feel happier and healthier”. - Director of Danish healthcare.
* They do, however apparently, enjoy a smoke and drink enthusiastically……
* Have one of the highest rates of cancer - (Northern hemisphere vitamin D deficiency? )
I found some interesting articles when I searched online for "functional b12 deficiency nitrous oxide".
Some of the stories are sad to read.
Nitrous Oxide

NICE guidelines Nitrous Oxide ( see side effects section)
As a cook I use Nitrous Oxide for various recipes i.e. putting in a whipper to emulsify sauces, cream etc. So this isn't good news for me.
