Hello, does anyone else have the symptom of a constant headache? I've had one for 3 months now, and have started injecting b12 subcutaneously this week.
My headache is like a constant pressure within my head.
Everyone's symptoms are slightly different.
While there are common ones to B12 (Pins and needles, palpitations, numbness in extremities), it's often that either the cause or reason makes your symptoms different or the interconnection with other deficiencies.
I noticed on your previous posts that you're Iron deficient too? So that could play a role.
Personally, when my symptoms came on fast it included a near-paralyzing headache. By the evenings it was so painful I could barely function.
Over time its gone but it can come back from time to time. All part of a long healing journey I believe.
I had an iron infusion this week so hopefully that should be solved. Thank you
Fingers crossed. It might alleviate it a bit. But do carry on with your SubCut B12 injections. Your Dr will probably tell you it can take a long time to see improvements once you've been treated.
Yes.
I also had days of migraines in thd early days.
My head is still 'tight'
Random skull pains abd muscle tension.
It has all improved over time.
Horrid
Sorry to hear you have this. I had a permanent headache for many months. It's not fun.
Could it be a side effect from the Covid vaccine, I have heard of this.
Have you had your eyes checked recently. Any time I have severe headaches, it’s because of my eyes. I have Sjögren’s and my eyes trouble me but I think an eye check is always worthwhile.
I had terrible migraines that were set off from any form of exertion. After I started to self inject (daily cyanocobalamin subc), it took about 5 months for the migraines to stop. Yay!!
Hi, why cyanocobalamin? I’ve heard that hydroxocobalamin is more common, and how often did you inject? Thanks
Also if you don’t mind me asking, how long did you have symptoms before you got treatment?
It’s hard to say. I would say 10+ years of doctors scratching their heads. But when I developed daily ataxia and constant migraines (among other symptoms like neuropathy and chest pains), I felt I had to get to the bottom of the problem and did my own research. I have responded remarkably to B12 injections (vs the tablets) and almost completely recovered. Really felt much better after 4-5 months of treatment.
Have you had your vitamin d tested? Asking because I had daily headaches for a year before the b12 deficiency was found but low vitamin d was found at relatively the same time, So my headaches could have been due to either.
And they instantly went away with treatment.
All the best to you getting things figured out.
I have tested my vitamin D, it was low and I used to ache, but I increased my levels with supplements. It’s now up at 123 nmol/l
Yes, I have had a frequent frontal headache. Before I was diagnosed I had it every afternoon/evening, worse with exertion, lifting heavy things, coughing, or bending over. It was the first symptom of my B12 deficiency that took me to the doctor. It has gotten better, but comes back when I over exert myself and can take days to go away.
I suffered from chronic headaches, or what I would describe as “pressure in my skull.” It started at the end of 2020 & lasted for months. I had CT scans, MRI’s, you name it. After SI consistently, I saw improvements with the head pressure & several other symptoms. The last few months have been the best in a while. Hopefully, there is hope.
Yup, I had a constant headache with B12 deficiency.
B12 injections have completely cured it.
A headache is the first thing to return when I need injections though. To keep it, and other symptoms at bay, I now inject B12 every other day.
