hypersensitivity after SI

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to start by thanking all of you for having me here. Ive learned so much and it helps to have a place where things “make sense!”

So, I am a month into my loading doses (SI). I’ve noticed that I’m very sensitive and almost having allergic like reactions to things that didn’t bother me before. Might have to stop my lash extensions because the last two visits, my eyes itch and swell and I get super congested. Same thing happened the other day when I applied a self tanner that I’ve been using forever. Even some smells and chemicals bother me now. Household products and hygiene products are now all natural. I’ve eliminated foods that I react this way to. My diet is very clean..no dairy, gluten, soy, and lots of others . I keep my food group simple!

Does this ring a bell with anyone? As always, thank you in advance for all of your replies and feedback! 🤗

The way one thing has changed that is related to being b12 deficient and needing b12 Injections is my skin.

I have a very dry irritated scalp.

Scabby at times.

Seems to be related to nerves in my scalp. Started after b12 injections and then worse when diet altered a little. Less fats?? ( high cholesterol)

But has remained a problem even though havi g my 'normal diet ' again for s yesr.

Also oval very sore dry skin lesions. .odd places .

One in my ear investigated at hospital in dermatology

Fast track appt.

Was cleared with an antibiotic cream.

So I've trued loads of oiks creams shampoos to lesson the recurrence .

Alternating.

My daughter also has 'a clean' diet like you.

She had terrible rashes .

Bleeding hands

Actually so much has changed in what she csn and can't eat or use.

No allergies no special diets in the past to contribute to this.

Al came with b12 and folate deficiency and megobolastic anaemia.

So definitely linked.

She doesn't wear mske up or use tanners ect .so for her was mainly from foods.

Apart from hand Soap and w powder that was stopped.

Hoping you can work it out.

Also that early in treatment other symptoms are improving for you.

I have become sensitive to all sorts of things since being diagnosed with PA some have improved over time others have not, one of the things that affected me most was a blood pressure tablet that I had taken for some time suddenly started making me feel paranoid but this stopped as soon as I stopped taking the tablet , also became sensitive to gluten , one brand of toothpaste, some shower gels and found I had to change the eye drops that I used for dry eyes, over time I have started to listen to my body more and make adjustments as I go but I think most of us have found food is an issue that we have to work with. All best wishes

Hi Skingal74,

I was at a ‘talk’ and listened with intent when the consultant mentioned that hydroxycobalamin/cyanocobalamin can affect the gut microbiome (good and bad bacteria in the gut).

Similarly, it can be fair to say that the gut microbiome can become unbalanced due to having P.A./vitamin B12 deficiency as many of us have hypochlorida (low gut acid). Plus, we can have other deficiencies.

Now, I’m a coeliac, lactose intolerant with hypersensitivities so, have looked into this. At one point in my life, I woke up to find the skin to my chest, abdomen and thighs were blistered and I was pretty poorly. I was ‘diagnosed’ with pityriasis rosea (I don’t believe you now doc and they didn’t take into account my other symptoms).

Anyway, it may be worth popping onto gluten free guerillas. It could just be P.A./B12 deficiency. Or it could be something to do with histamine ? It could be other deficiencies. I honestly don’t know.

We are all so different, only you know your body best and it’s trying to work out what is truly going on with you.

That’s why a symptoms and food diary can help you establish those patterns.

Best wishes.

Hi there!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I actually have been gluten free, dairy free for a while. I have so many foods that make me swollen, congested etc and it’s not worth it to eat them. I eat very clean and I feel much better. My histamine was within normal range so I’m not quite sure why this recent stuff has been happening. I’m not surprised though 😂. I feel like this PA has made my entire body soo sensitive to EVERYTHING!

I appreciate your help! Hope you are feeling well! XO
