My doctor disagrees

I believe I have B12 anaemia deficiency as my blood test came back with an abnormality for low in Folate which is all in the B family. I have ALL the symptoms which I’ve complained about to my doctors over the past few years, all of which have suddenly started together except mouth ulcers. I’m also disabled with other conditions like COPD, severe neck/spine pain, fibromyalgia etc. I wear glasses but still have a problem seeing. I recently had surgery on my gallbladder stones. My doctor refuses to let me try B12 injections and gave me 5mg Folic Acid pills.

I bought Methylcobalamin B12 1mg & started injecting it daily, after reading up on it first. I’ve already noticed a slight difference in my energy levels after 10 days. But it’s costing me £200 mthly. Yet my doctors refuse to do anything else, if the doctor would prescribe me the correct B12 & dosage 5mg then I could actually begin to live again, not just exist. Do you feel I’m wrong and I should just take Folic Acid? I’ve tried everything to improve my health, it upsets me when doctors don’t listen to me or want to help. I have a choice buy food & pay bills or my health.

extreme tiredness

a lack of energy

pins and needles

a sore dry cracked red tongue

muscle weakness

disturbed vision

psychological problems, which may include depression and confusion

problems with memory, understanding and judgement

tinnitus

All these symptoms and yet the doctors won’t let me try & see if the correct B12 & dosage would make an even better difference.

Any suggestions? Sincere thanks and blessings xx

Hi twitbrit1,

I guess you are in the UK, spending £200.00 per month wow. All I can suggest is you buy b12 vials from Germany,

Not methyl, but Hydroxocobalamin, roughly £70 £80

For 100 vials. (that includes needles from medisave)

Wedgewood is our great informant on purchasing them.

By the way I would say your doctor is the twit... not you twitbrit1.

😜

Hi Twitbrit1

Have you been tested for coeliac?

According to NICE:-

"The main cause of folate malabsorption is gluten-induced enteropathy."

No. But my doctors couldn’t careless if I was or not, they don’t look for the reasons why I’m deficient. The more money they save on medications to patients the bigger their BONUS CHEQUES WILL BE EACH YEAR. I do all my own research and try to find a solution myself. I will buy a test a check that out. Thank you so much.

Sincere thanks and blessings x
