My friend was seen her GP for weird symptoms she has and the doctor was forgot to ask lab methyl malonic acid test but all other bloodwork was done. Unfortunately she has injected two times hydroxocobalamin so it's not possible to redo bloodwork for methyl malonic acid.

She sent to me her bloodwork results.

These are her bloodwork result

Folic acid. 13.82. Ng/ml.

Homocysteine 4.2 micmol/L

Feritin 15.2. Ng/ml

Iron. 152. micg/dl

Magnesium 2.2 mEq/L

She has pain in all if her body. Feeling insect crawling on her body

Numbness in her feet big toes

Irritability

Is it possible to test for Holo transcobalamin

Please share your information

Unfortunately from my understanding MMA can react quickly to B12 so it may not be useful anymore. Same with holoTC. Homocysteine looks ok but it's difficult to say anything without ranges - can you please ask for ranges and add them in here?

Symptoms do sounds like B12D so I would try to get the missing tests and if it was me, I would carry on regardless of results.

All of other tests are in range. All of thyroid hormones, D3 (25 oh), Na, K, P are in range

Her three months ago complete blood count was in range but CBC wasn't included in recent test.

Liver enzymes are in range.

I think it's possible to test for HoloTC but thus test is not sensitive enough.

She has muscle spasm in feet and weakness in hands. It's seems to me look like B12 deficiency

Her total B12 is in range too

423.6 Pg/ml

I told her continue to inject hydroxocobalamin.

She has fatigue too
