Hi there, I've been self injecting Once every two week for about a year now and due to having oedema in one leg it's got very painful to alternate my injection site these days. Can you keep on injecting into one particular leg so long that you move it around on that leg itself? Many thanks. :)

I wouldn’t think that it would be harmful at all to inject into the same thigh every 2weeks . I use the Vastus Lateralis muscle , which comes close to the surface in the outside middle third of the thigh . Use a fine needle say 25G x 1inch . You can see illustrations online . It is quite a large area that you can use . Of course you can inject subcutaneously with a 30g x 1/2 inch needle That would include the whole of the front thigh . So you’ve plenty of choice !

Thanks. I've been using a 25g needle and I used to do it inter muscular but recently changed over to subcutaneously. :)

For some weird reason I can't seem to bring myself to do that. :)

I was the same. Our stomachsl are sensitive.

I got over it as a good route for sc. Fewer veins.

On me more fat than on thighs.

I do both.

I've been SI into my thighs every day for the last 7 years without any problems. Sometimes I use the same one two or three days running at least. I don't bother to keep tabs on it any more; I just use whichever one is most comfortable.

A few of us here SI twice every day so have to use the same leg (or more particularly both legs) every day.

No problem at all.
