After phoning gp. (Yes 45mjns)

Pharmacy.(5 attempts busy line)

Leaving a massage for district nurse

service with an operator as no direct calls allowed now.

2 missed calls from District nurse asking if vb12 in the house and giving date going

Mum 92 got her b12 injection.

Surely a better system could be arranged.

Same every 3 months. How many go without??

Before it she had two nasty falls. I'd arranged for extra 'homehelp' as the second fall was putting up the ironing board! With obviously her consent. Mobility very poor.

B12 injection Wednesday.

Saturday telling me off for organising more help without her consent.

She been to Tesco as didn't want online shopping .

Also apparently the B12 injection didn't do anything.

Had to laugh 😃 and she did when I pointed out.

1. Thinking more clearly

2. Able to move with a walking frame to get to s shop

3. Not withdrawn and fighting me again.

(Initial stress of feeling like a told off child not nice though )

It takes ages to get through anywhere these days be it nurse, dr, 111 which I find so *loody infuriating.

My nurse turned up to give my B12 without any sharps ! Glad to hear your mum is coping better and in a better frame of mind.

If the dear old soul fell they might be dealing with a broken hip - instead it's a simple B12 injection.

It’s good that your mum realises (ok when it’s pointed out to her) that her b12 does something positive - my hubby could never remember the good only feeling bad after the jab, and feeling bad before he had it, he never remembered the good 5 weeks between jabs when everything worked well!He takes 1000mcg tablets that he must be absorbing as his levels are still good but not as effective as the injections were.

Thanks Sleepybunny,

Very well put. Glad your mum still able, after injection, to get to the shops. If we don't use them, we lose them !

She sounds like quite a character.

No, it should not take such hard work to allow her to have a life.

Thanks, Sleepybunny , for the link. Lovely story and beautiful photo.

Heartwarming to hear that an entire GP surgery may well have a different view of B12 deficiency treatment now.

Oh Nackapan,

The system does need to be better. You are run ragged with all that chasing.

Sorry to hear that your mum doesn’t feel the injections do not make a difference and the tension that can be felt.

You are doing a great job, here, for yourself and family.

Sending my best
