Hello, After a lot of googling and searching this site, I am still confused about what to buy. I have been using pre-filled B12 syringes but am switching to glass ampoules. The pre-filled syringes I have been using are 31G and 8 mm long. I understand I should use a filter to draw up the serum and switch to a new needle to inject. I need to find a source for this equipment in the US. I am looking at the stuff on-line and on Amazon and none of it is clear to me. I sub-cut inject and really don't want a very long needle...8 mm seems plenty long but I need a filter to fit with that. I am trying to avoid ordering from overseas. Can anybody help?
Wedgewood, I know you sent me a link to help things along last week, but I cannot find it. I am going to need an injection soon. I waited too long to get this stuff. I did not know how complicated it would be.
Thanks, Eileen

Even in doctor office they don't use filter syringe for this type of ampoule, But for draw up you need long enough needle to reach bottom of ampoule just don't let needle touch glass because make it blunt and make injection painful. There are many brands but I luer lock type I think is better. Some people use simple slip type with no luer lock. I think 1 inch length also do the same. You can buy it from Amazon too but you have to check purpose of it use. Disposable medical for human injection sterile type I mean.
You really don’t have to have a filter needle to withdraw the B12 . I use a very good metal ampoule opener ( Amazon ) . This makes a really clean , splinter -free cut & saves a possible trip to Accident and Emergency ! You can use a normal long needle to withdraw ( say 1 1/2 inch long) or a blunt needle . 30G x 1/2 inch is good for sub-cutaneous injections .
I just use a 1 mL, 8mm, 31 gauge for withdrawal and injection. I got tired of switching needles so this way works for me. I've been using 10mL vials of B12.
