Out of syringes!

Hi all. Having a crazy time and wanted to share. I'm very blessed that I get 3 self jabs a week and do well with that number. Every month, I get my 13 viles, but fight for the needles. I tell them how an I suppose to get this into my muscle without a syringe?!?! Usually I miss a dose or two and catch up after I get the needles. Anyway, I got my viles last week and was already behind on jabs. I didn't mind they left out the needles again because I saved one for just this reason. Well, last week, it broke on me and the medication went in between the inner tube and outer syringe. So I only got a partial dose. Fast forward a week and I finally got my needles today. I am 7 behind at this point. I woke this morning having a hard time getting up, my muscles felt like jelly, horrible stomach cramping, ringing left ear, pins and needles and all over weakness. I'm also a right leg amputee and wear a prosthetic leg. I just had to have a cast put on my left for torn achillis and fibula fracture. It's been a rough time for me and need my b12 on time to keep me going. This just goes to show ppl how important it is to get regular b12 jabs to keep a healthy life. Thanks for reading. Love to all❤

Here in the UK we can easily and cheaply buy them online and OTC in agricultural merchants, sometimes pharmacies, vets or dentists will help.

I'm not sure about the US but hopefully someone will help. pvanderaa can you give any suggestions, please?

Can you approach your local drug clinic? Some of these will be helpful too.

Thank you. Do you know if you have to have a written script to buy online. I'm so tired of going thru this every month

No prescription needed; see my reply below. 🙂

Also, where in the US did you find a doctor to give you 3 vials per week, if you don't mind me asking?

The vets sounds like a good option!

Crazy situation to have the B12 and no syringes, no wonder you’re feeling rubbish. I SI EOD and quickly feel unwell if I dont. Try and buy needles and syringes online if you can, so you can be regular with your injections. 🤞

Thank you for your reply. The best needle/syringe(sounds funny to say) was a friend that runs a vets office gave me one out of desperation a few months ago. It was was more sturdy than the ones I usually get. I might try and order from there

I'm in the US and I order from allegromedical.com/

I have also successfully ordered some from Amazon in the past, or other medical supply providers I can't remember that I found through a Google search. None of these places required a prescription.

I have tried to get them from Walmart or Walgreens pharmacy and it is dehumanizing. Even with a prescription, they treated me like a suspected drug addict. It is so much better to just order them online. 🙂

While I'm the furthest thing you'll get from a drug addict, I confess that, knowing this, I'd happily play along with them if it meant I could get sharps for my B12! Maintaining a reasonable quality of life is much more of a driver than some mind bending substance for me!! 😃But I know what you mean and I'm very sorry that you felt degraded in your pursuit of a vital resource for basic life.

I don't even have any judgment about addictions and have struggled with them myself, so I'm sorry if that sounded judgmental. (I actually support harm reduction practices and clean needle programs for people struggling with addiction, so I don't think they should hassle anyone.) The problem was that they treated me poorly AND they wouldn't give me needles, even with a prescription. That seemed extra ridiculous.

I know exactly what you mean!

The worst of it is, that you think that if we can remain non-judgemental then others should also act with compassion and understanding too and it shakes your faith in the people around you when they don't, doesn't it!

I appreciate your kindness and help on here, thank you!
