Does B12 deficiency/ PA make you more susceptible to picking up bugs? I seem to be catching every bug & virus that goes around.

If you receive adequate treatment for your P.A. ,i.e. sufficient B12 injections to keep symptoms at bay , then you are not more likely than anyone else to pick up infections . The trouble is that the NHS seems to take pleasure in keeping P.A. patients under- treated with this cheap vitamin. Even if sufficiently treated e.g. the lucky P.A. Patients who find that the 3monthly or 2monthly injections are sufficient , it should be borne in mind that P.A. patients have low or no stomach acid (Hypochlorhydria/ Achlorhydria) and could benefit from a modest multivitamin and mineral tablet supplement , as low stomach acid can lead to malabsorption of the same. Also patients who take PPIs ( omeprazole and the like,— stomach acid suppressants)
In theory no.I have been more susceptible too .
Also to infections in my mouth and on my skin.
Fatigue shows my body is struggling still
I believe it does - all my neuro symptoms came on after a really bad virus four years ago.
Wondering if you've had your vitamin D checked ? Really good levels are important, especially at the moment, with winter approaching.
Dr John Campbell gives good advice in this video, has a phd and taught clinicians :

I believe the NHS has stopped prescribing vit D 🤦♀️
Thanks. I do take vitamin D. Actually I'm hindsight the first thing thing thst was found to be very low a couple of yesrs before b22.
The NHS sti prescribe vit D but only loading doses thst are prescription only.
I had two lots tgrn bought the maintenance doses.
Will look at thst clip thanks
Sorry Nackapan, I posted in the wrong place - meant this in reply to Rmcc16
Glad you're taking vit. D too though. It seems most of us have levels that are too low for one reason or another. I've been infection free since taking initial high doses with K2.
Dr Carmel Wheatley, a researcher into cancer, sepsis and B12 at Oxford University, has very interesting comments to make on vitamin D and B12 - she calls B12 a 'pan vitamin' and believes the West have limited their research - there is a lot more to read world wide. Very large doses of D and B12 are given in some countries to those hospitalised with CV19.....
