Feeling deflated.

I have been trying to loose weight and feel like I'm getting no where. I was wondering if anyone else with pernicious anaemia struggles to loose weight?

I joined a gym beginning of the year, but struggled as even just doing a 20 minute workout really wiped me out later that day and sometimes for a day or two later.

I joined slimming world(only lasted 4 month's) as I only lost 4lb and that was a struggle. It wasn't all at once it was here and there.

I've tried to eat better, but I feel like I have a few stomach issue's so it just seemed too much bother I just give up.

I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to speak about it as it's really getting me depressed, but not sure there's much they can help with as they already helped at the beginning of the year referring me to do slimming World.

I wonder if your B12d is being adequately treated if you’re struggling so much physically? Maybe that’s the first thing to address?

I’d also ask the Dr to test your thyroid function if you felt you had stuck to the slimming world diet but had lost very little weight.

If you’re eating badly I do understand. When I feel bloated I feel fat and bizarrely that makes me want to eat rubbishy carbs rather than sensible protein and healthy carbs.

My bloating and digestive issues have never gone away but they’ve been improved by taking a good quality probiotic. Also, betaine hcl with protein foods.

At the end of the day it’s calories in vs calories out and thyroid issues aside, it might come down to monitoring calories or following a weight loss plan carefully.

If you can feel better about yourself it’s easier to do this. Perhaps upping the B12 and therefore your energy levels and also supporting your digestion will help.

Good luck!

I really struggle to loose weight and then find it impossible to keep it off for long. I’ve lost the same one and a half to two stones about fifteen times over the last twenty years so I feel your pain!
