Yoga and some positivity

Hi there,

I came to this forum as a B12 deficient( not PA) and with couple of neurological symptoms at extremities.

Started oral B12 and symptoms got worse then I went for injections. luckily with that started yoga to refresh my yoga practice. With breathing, meditation and B12 injections I started feeling better slowly . Just finished my neurogist appointment. Told her my symptoms got worse with loading doses and I doubted theat it will get worse to be better. She ruled out that and said, it's not that. The medication took some time to work on cell level and said it's going to be alright soon. She asked me to check B6 and B12 . Because sometimes those when in excess plays the same trick like B12 deficiency.

So the main thing I wanted to share is yoga is helping me to gather myself to fight.

Simple breathing techniques will calm the nerves to settle.

Take care guys. If anyone wants to know please let me know. I will suggest simple pranayama and yoga postures.

Great observations!

I've noticed that exercise helps with the numbness. When I've got the energy to do it. I'm not tired all of the time anymore and with it being so warm now, it's easier to get long walks in.

Very interesting point that an excess can mimic deficiency symptoms - I’ve definitely noticed a worsening of symptoms with the more B12 I receive (and it’s been a year of injections and sublinguals).

I’m going to stop all supplementation for a month and see where I land.

I agree Gettingbette, I have done yoga for over 20 years. I only started because I felt so ill and had to give up running , rowing and boot camps!! Yoga has helped me both physically and mentally deal with undiagnosed low vit b12. And the medical professionals!!!! Keep up your practice and I hope you are well 🙏

Hi Mrsmr,I love sport and similar interests. The first time I signed up for yoga classes, 20 odd years ago. I woke up the next day and thought and my body felt like I’d run 10 k.

So where does tgst leave us with the theory we need a high amount to actually be able to uses it at cell levels ?I was told to keep levels high by a neurologist whi had read all available 'papers' as had b12 deficiency himself.

Why we're the b12 ampoules made in 1mg doses?

Surly the increase in symptoms Is waking up dormant cells

It takes a long time/ yesrs to become deficient.

Most take a long time to make every possible repair .

The Netherlands have done most research and advocate frequent injections. ?

Too high b6 does aggravate neuro symptoms.

I would recheck what the neurologist meant and where she's read it?

Glad yoga helps you. .

Gettingbette,

I totally agree with yoga. Plus, I’ve meditated for 20 years which my family and friends do not understand. It may not be for everyone though. Plus, people are at different stages of illness.

Getting worse before getting better is referred to the ‘reversing out syndrome’ by Dr Joseph Chandy which I and others have had. It can be quite painful as nerves are healing.
