Does Hashimotos thyroiditis go away with B12 injections? I have had Hashimotos for 28 years. I'm so confused. I have been on B12 once a week for 8 weeks.

I honestly can't answer your question - its an auto-immune disease and I think it can flair up and then seem to reside independently of B12 status - suggest you check on the TUK forum.
Being a sufferer of both hashi & PA I would say no. Antibodies can be the cause of thyroid disease but they are not the disease itself. Antibody levels fluctuate and flare up causing the immune system to attack the thyroid. Over time the thyroid shrinks with each attack but it can never actually repair itself. However, replacing low levels of vitamins and nutrients, such as b12, can also help lower inflammation & reduce the antibody flare ups. As Gambit62 suggested, pop over to the Thyroid UK forum, there's a lot of thyroid knowledge there
No b12 will not make your Hashimotosis go away. Hashimotosis is an autoimmune disease that has times when its quiet and times when it flares up. Over time the thyroid is destroyed and thyroid replacement is required. B12 is commonly low in Hashimotosis so it could be an effect of the disease or you have a separate condition.
